Default Jockey / Trainer Combination

How much does the Jockey/Trainer combination assist with picking winners, on the R&S site under the Nueral TAB there is a J/T Combination algorithm, i've just been playing around with the idea of using this combined with the Course algorithm - With today races in NSW and Vic i came up with 17 selections $1 each way ($34 invest) 3 came 1st and another 7 placed with a combined return of $56 - on the records that i have for the 27th July using the same method there were 11 selections, $1 ew ($22 invest) 4 winners and another 1 placed for a total return of $45.60.
This is only a small sample, but an impressive return on investment.

Hi P.T.P.

Years ago when i was experimenting with the Neurals,
The Jockey Jockey/Trainer combo was 2 i used.

The problem i found was that as the Neurals were done 1-2.
Days before the meeting was actually run the Jockey's who.
Were listed to ride the horse Was "NOT" the jockey who actually rode the horse on the day thus making the neural value of those two combinations useless For whatever reason it may have been.

It's a good stat to have, providing the above sceanario takes place.

Cheers.

What do you mean PTP? Does the same horse have to be top in both the categories or are you selecting two horses in a race sometimes (i.e. one for top J/T and one for top course)?

Question

One more thing i found with the neurals while it picked,

Many winners in the top say 1-2-3-4 for whatever ratings,
You used, trying to turn that into a $$$ profit was the hardest,
Thing i have ever encountered in racing..

Because each neural had a different affect on each different race,
Using 1-2-3-4-5-> or even more for me became mission impossible.

Certainly not saying it can't be done just you will need to,
Find an exact combo for certain distances, track conditions,
Race types, States etc in the end i looked elsewhere

Good luck with it anyway if you get the right combinations,
You are in business for sure.

Cheers.
Garyf.

GF

Thanks for the heads up on the Jockey changes, another thing to keep an eye on, i have been playing around with different columns in the nueral sheet for a while and there is no one column that i have found yet where you can take the top rated horse and have a consistent return.

Ocho

I have only just played around with this this evening so not much time has been invested as yet.
Basically, take the top 3 rated in the JT combo column this could be ( 15,13,11 or 12,10,10,10 or 14,14,11,11,11) therefore there could be 3 selected or even 5 selected, then from these take the one with the highest Course rating, if there is more than one top rated in the course rating, then i have moved over to the TIM column and take the top rated there instead, the idea is to end up with one horse per race.

As i have said there hasn't been much time invested here, but the initial results have shown that the average place dividend is $3.00 and the average win dividend was $8.50

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, even if anyone can run past results would be good as i only have 2 days of data to run off, but will be monitoring daily.

Pete

Don't forget PTP that the neural values change sometime after the races.
