Excel Help - Market Framing
Hi Guys,
I got a problem with re-adjusting markets to take scratchings into account. It seemed so easy, but when I sat down to do it I realised I had not clue one what I was doing. I went to an Excel help site, but realised it would be easier to explain to the racing mob. What I want to do is write a template for up to 20 horses (the max I expect to encounter), so Column A = TAB No, Col B = Original Market, Col C = Adjusted Market after Scratchings. My first problem was establishing the market percentage of Col A. It went something like - =SUM(100/B1+100/B2+100/B3+100/B4+.....100/B20) which apart from being incredibly cumbersome doesn't take blank cells into account and there returns a #Div/0! error. So I started playing around with conditional functions and, and..... I've got a headache.... Surely one of you very charitable souls can point me in the right direction, I'd REALLY appreciate it. Thanks, Den |

I've quickly put together...
Market Maker Deluxe Simply delete the rating of any scratching and the market will recalculate to 100% Hope this helps.

Thanks Chrome, certainly a professional looking job but you misconstrued what I meant, or more likely I didn't explain very well.
What I wanted was to put in a column for paper prices and have it auto recalculate the odds after scratchings. I finally got it done - very messy, took 6 columns although 3 of them can be 'hidden'. I knew there was a way cause I can sit down with a calculator and pencil and achieve the result. There may be a more efficient way but it works. I have attached the file in case anyone else wants it. Market Adjuster Gold Note: In this example 3 & 10 are scratched. |
