Jockey/Trainer Combo System
Been a while.
My latest research involves the trainer/jockey combination along with some filters in maiden races in New Zealand. Firstly, I eliminate all horses beyond 5 years old. The trainer must qualify on the track raced upon and the jockey/trainer combination must also rate. I rate the trainer and jockey on starts to wins/placings and also opportunity. They must attain a minimum score. The horse must have had an average lengths from the winner of 3.2 lengths or less over it's last two runs. I include a trials win but not a trials placing. For example, a trial win after a placing of 2nd to 4th at it's last race start. The horse must have run 2nd to 4th at it's last start and a first starter who won a trial also qualifies. A trials winner who placed 5th or worse at its pre-trial race is disqualified. All runners are backed to win for $1.00 at NZ TAB. To 25 Jan. 2016: 24 runners 13 winners 7 places 4 unplaced Outlay $24.00 return $49.80
