Default Trained on track, home track

Is there any advntage for horses that are trained at thetrack they are running at today, ie it's their home track?

Curious as to whether there's a higher/lower strike rate, lower loss on turnover or whatever. Or is it al factored into the price?

If somebody could check it out wiith a database it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Peter,

I don't have the stats but my expectation would be they perform worse given the trainer is just putting them into the track closest to them. But maybe familiarity does help the horse.

I do find some value in betting a horse that continues to run a distance and is failing ( 6+ races ) as the trainer knows something and its just not clicking for the horse yet. They usually come through for a win eventually.

Thanks for the reply UselessBettor.

That's one school of thought that another poster from years ago, punter57 had. His rationale was the same as yours, pretty easy for the trainer to just enter them as they ony had to walk/drive them down the road.

He had an idea, looking at the opposite, trainers travelling 300km or more, especially if there was a race at home that day, especially if the race they travelled to offered more prizemoney.

The other school of thought is that they are familiar with the track. If that gives an adavntage is another thing of course.

Interesting obseration about failing a few times at the distance. Something I shall keep an eye on

Thanks again. This forum has gone really quiet by the way

I couldn't find much on Facebook, maybe they're on Instagram, but couldn't be bothered, always preferred forums, as you can join in when you want and look back on posts easier.
