Best tote
Can anyone please explain how the corporates make Best Tote work?
For example, when I wager $100 on this bet type which pool will it go into? Does the bookie continually adjust his books and offload into multiple tote pools progressively or does he offload late in big chunks? If I submitted a large place bet into small tote pools would it be spread by the bookie thereby not driving markets noticeably either way? I can't find answers to this on their sites. Thanks. |

I believe they don't bet into the pools unless they have a large exposure on one runner. They have to pay turnover tax etc, so they would be giving the profit away if it were a direct portal.
If you're having a large place bet, they may reject part of it, or submit part of it across the pools. It depends how you define large, I don't think they'd take your business for long.
