I currently run an Intel i5 processor and am regretting it, apart from the ridiculous heatsink which attaches with plastic tabs (which often pop off the motherboard or distort) and has done so for the last 20 years, AMD has always been my best choice. They run hotter than Intel, but have much better performance and heatsinks. Just need to have the correct cooling system.

I have had both, not bought anything new for a few years and i did have a couple pc at one stage one had an i7 920 and the other had a 6 core AMD when they first came out and i must say the i7 was a better system, i always replaced the standard cooler with Notua fans and heat sink, best fans you could get without going down the liquid cooling path.

I do have a dell 2 in 1, not sure of the processor.
