NSW premier Mike Baird has announced that legislation had been passed ending the July 2017 closure date of the greyhound racing industry in NSW
A new body will be set up to govern and regulate the industry and will be chaired by former NSW premier Morris Iemma
New regulations which are key parts of the new deal to reverse the ban, include:
Capping breeding to 2000
Reducing the number of greyhound racetracks in NSW
Reducing the number of race held in NSW
Whole - of-life dog cycle management
A $1500 bond for every dog bred in NSW
