Knowing the fitness levels of each horse and even watching it's progress as it matures has got to be an advantage.

I've noticed that the penny has dropped for 'clocker Thompson' of late. His tips used to be filed under 'thanks but no thanks' and now with a lot more experience, I actually pay attention when he says something is working really well. All those early mornings with the stopwatch are starting to pay off?....

I'd love to be out there every morning with a Long Mac, stopwatch and notebook but unfortunately it is not to be at this stage of my life. Maybe one day........
