Tipsters

I'm desperately looking for a reliable racing service that has a good strike rate and not outrageously priced like some are.I've fell into that trap before and been very disappointed.Any suggestions people?

Sorry no I use my own systems and don't use tipsters.

While we don't offer tips (other then the free ones) we offer a program that will allow you to create your own systems and selections. The selection process can be as simple or as complex as you like and the whole process from downloading the form to producing your selections will take about 2-3 min on race day (after you have created your systems).

The program will give you what you put into it, we are not a gold mine with a click of a button; that is NOT us; its no one, but there are some that will have you believe.

If you would consider a product that is capable of producing a realistic winning expectation and are prepared to work with it then Axis will serve you well.

It might not be something you might have considered before, or you may not have the time but I just thought I would mention it as it allows you to take your punting into your own hands (build on our long-term ratings performance) rather then relying on others.

Hate to say it Wayne but it doesn't matter whether you build your own systems or use tipsters, what most people don't see coming is the 'Run of Outs'. Your max losing streak and max Bank drawdown.

The best systems might have a strike rate of 40%, but can you cope mentally and financially with 14 straight losses? It will happen, even with < $1.40 favourites with a 80% strike rate can have 4 straight losses. You'll need 10 straight wins after that event to just break even.

What usually happens is people start doubling up and go bust even quicker. You have to be well disciplined and have good money management to survive as a Backer.

Tipster is a very broad term.
RP's advice is excellent, but you need to be more specific about what you're looking to achieve.
It really depends on your approach and what methods suit your betting style.

Tipsters can give you tips, but generally they are no better than the market order, unless the tips are based on something the public doesn't know or ratings that give you the edge.

Also depends on your betting frequency, style and bank.

The Website called the GreatTipOff lists a number of media tipsters. Some are free.
