David Walsh aka God

Down in Hobart at the moment and visited MONA (paid for, by one of the most successful punter's in Australia's profits)

The Museum is a serious challenge to everyday morality and sensibility, that's all I can say without being rude. The Builder though, did a brilliant job.
Intriguing , is his reserved parking space? Sign written, "GOD" and adjacent, "GODS MISTRESS", big and bold.

Her car was there, a top of the line Mercedes SUV with the number plate "GODXXX"

On 'em!

Here endeth the lesson I guess RP. What to learn from his example, if anything??

Well LG, let me offer you an observation. Forgetting the contents of his Museum, which is on the fringe, to be kind. If you drive there the entrance is almost unsignposted (Look for entry points almost hidden). After you park and seek directions to the museum entry (Not obvious!), you negotiate past the forklifts unloading pallets of grog, down some stairs and finally spot the low key entry doors surrounded by mirror panels (Having a hard look at yourself!). But to get there you have to walk across a tennis court, thankfully no one playing!

To summarise: "look for the almost hidden and push through distracting influences"?

I'm stunned mate. There is an element of brilliance in your analogy here. Thanks for the 'on-foot insights' into the man and his museum. They are quite revealing!

Cheers LG

PS in the decoration plan, is there a bit of gold - bronze or does the great man have some sharp angles here and there?

Once, through the entry doors you make your way down 3 floors via a spiral staircase. The museum is bunkered in below ground. At the foot of the staircase, your first sight is the most magnificent Bar, I've ever seen! Stock full of every spirit imaginable, as if to say, "Go no further, start your day with a strong drink!".....lol throughout the tour it is a continual transformation from darkness to light. I can only draw a parallel here from the movie Blues Bros, wherein Jake says, " I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT"

Perhaps that's why he was a successful programming punter :D
Thanks for the description, I've seen interviews and he does seem a little "off the wall" (forgive the pun). It's open to the public, but I seriously think it's more about his own opinion and self reflection. Some people would find "God's Mistress" quite offensive.
