flat level stake, bet all black priced teams for the first half of the season (round 1 to grand final inclusive).THEN back red prices for the second half.THATS IT!!!!
Modifications I use as follows
Best Prices at all times(check states)
No bet if under 1.10 or over 5.00
bet staright out result no starts

And what sort of results has this system achieved?

007magoo 7th April 2004 09:01 PM

I how one of the forums stats men could soon tell us,although i estimate (pending best flucks)10%+

Mr J 7th April 2004 10:58 PM

You'd want to test it against the results of several seasons.

What are 'Black priced and red priced teams?'I have never heard of this before.

sportznut 8th April 2004 07:44 AM

Red prices are odds-on and Black prices are $2 or better. So in other words, this system just basically means back all the underdogs (up to $5) for the first half of the season and then back all the favourites (down to $1.10) for the second half.

Thanks sportz,has some merit .
I don't have any previous years prices to check, maybe you could comment on this systems validity.

Mr J 8th April 2004 09:16 AM

I think it assumes there are more upsets at the beginning of the season (form isn't known, and as everyone knows often faves fall apart and dogs come into form), and that later on in the season the teams in form are known. I doubt it'd profit betting faves for the latter half of the season, but being profitable betting dogs in the beginning could very well be.

Even though we are in the early rounds, it is clear that only the Panthers and Roosters have shown their class and intentions to win the premiership...you could argue that the Broncos and Raiders (and maybe the doggies)have a chance but that leaves a lot of unknowns which creates a lot of opportunities for the punter to back some outsiders...I agree with Sportsnut (in a previous post)that if you can pick out the sleeper early (like the Panthers last year) and back it- it could make you a tidy little profit.

Not sure about the betting system above but would want to see previous stats and results...

Has anyone one got SP Prices for last few years,it will suprise i think, although these will not be BEST PRICES,add 5%-10%(at least) on top.first round this year R1,5 collects,R2,4 collects,R3,3 collects
How about backing all origins games in both states in each game at best price for 5-15% profit per game,-3% on the draw saver!!!!
