End of Ubet/Tatts API
 

With the recent amalgamation of Ubet into Tab, I asked about the future of the Ubet api. Here is the response:

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Ubet API feed. At this stage, there is no timeline but in saying that, we do not foresee any reason for this application being made be available for very much longer.

Thursday last week i wrote python that grabs the json and stores it on a sqlite database
it looks like it works, has not failed yet. there were a couple of bugs and i added a bit to it on the weekend. Why do they discourage us? The cost of running that would have to be pocket change.

it requires python3, and the most recent python3 is the best to use.

i found code for nz tab json to sql.
i created another project for it on gitlab, it will be blank until i have another read and edit.
the fixed price odds are similar to the ubet odds, they are not identical, they just begin at the same place. There are times when nz tab gives nothing. That has not bothered me enough so far, and i just put the race in the skip basket. This might be ready next week. I will need to test it for a couple of days

I went to use the tabonline.com.au site today to find it is gone, is it another glitch or have they cleaned up all the old sites now?

FYI Nz fixed odds via api are whitelisted to static ip addresses - not just geoblocked

I've been trying to access the tabonline sit for the last three days but it looks as if it has bitten the dust. Keep getting a connection re set while loading message.


Pity as it is a good site for trying out ideas that you may get from pattern recognition

Its being replaced. Just move to the tab api (its almost identical anyway) and at least that way you know you are future proofed instead of hoping.

I have to agree on that, i only found the api a week ago, i haven't done any work with json files before this but so far using python i have found it easier than VBA.

Hey UB would i assume i can use this to log in and place bets if i choose to?

I think you need to have an account with API access to do that.

after a couple of years of searching, I found the free replacement of tatts’ old xml. It’s on json now and over at the free tab api. Hit me up if u’re interested
