Frankel
So far two Frankel offspring have been unplaced at their debuts in Australia
Merovee in March & New Horizons yesterday Soul Stirring has been his best so far She won the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies G1 last year And Japanese Oaks G1 this year |
I think there has been around a dozen or so individual stakes winners from Frankel's first crop

She really dug deep when looking beaten.
|
They were worried she wouldn't get the distance
But she certainly did that well |

Merovee resumed yesterday,,winning at Newcastle |
And another one by Frankel, the name’s a bit of a giveaway, Frankel My Dear
Made his debut at Flemington earlier this month, ran fifth, did a few things wrong Next start, listed McKenzie Stakes, at Moonee Valley |
Ran 6th beaten 3.65 lengths.

Bit slow to go & first run at the Valley, so not that bad a run
|
Frankel's first runner over jumps, Solo Saxophone, won the race, a juvenile hurdle at Catterick, UK
|
Quote:
And Solo Saxophone won his next start, a hurdle at Wetherby |
Quote:
Since 3rd at Exeter, opposition a lot stronger |
So far Frankel has sired 16 Group winners from his first two crops
And this record looks sure to increase with a number of lightly raced 3yo’s showing lots of promise |
Count Octave a son of Frankel on track for a crack at this years Melbourne Cup
|
Yes, Frankel has proven himself as a Sire, can you imagine next year's service fees? £125,000 to £175,000 already. I'd imagine they'd be looking at well over £200,000 pounds.

doing well, yep |
(morphettville) farooq (frankel / rostova) won for me
|
Impressive start for Frankel filly, Frankely Awesome
Two starts, two wins Will be interesting to see how she goes city class |
Quote:
out of quarantine today |
Quote:
Count Octave withdrawn from the Melbourne Cup with a leg issue. Likely will return to the UK for their summer carnival of 2019 and then return to Australia in the spring of next year where he can again be targeted at the Melbourne Cup. |
Another Melbourne Cup-hoping Frankel ran in the Geelong Cup today: Finche [Frankel (GB) - Binche (USA) (Woodman (USA))]. He was an encouraging 3rd.
Rostropovich [Frankel (GB) - Tyranny (GB) (Machiavellian (USA))] has accepted for the Cox Plate. |
Quote:
Both did well in the Cup Finche 4th,,dryer ground would have helped Rostropovich 5th,,ditto |
Quote:
29 stakes winners as of early September |
And read not that long ago that Frankel had winners in 11 different countries
|
Getting good results
As a result his stud fee has increased from £125,000 to £175,000 & may increase again |
From what I can see,,Frankel has four runners this Saturday
New Horizons in Brisbane Significance & Frankely Awesome & He's Eminent in Sydney |
Frankely Awesome & He's Eminent look the best of that bunch
|
Quote:
farooq spelling at the moment had another 4 starts best result 2nd geelong classic other runs in good class races good 1st up record so am awaiting his return |
Not bad stats to date for Frankel
14% Group winners to runners & 18% black-type winners to runners |
