An experiment (greyhound racing)
Some selections for today, if more than one selection then take a pick, they are in alphabetical order only, no special preference as far as I'm concerned.

I don't get it. Is it the best bet of the day is the very first animal and the worst bet the last mentioned animal? You haven't just separated animals in the same race , but have done more than that. When you say "I THINK" , you previously admittedly suggest your knowledge of things greyhound are somewhat lacking , is the "I THINK" based on previous results , and the method you employ? Can you not see that occasionally your method throws out an Odds On Chance , and then in other cases it throws out 100 to 1 shots. This sort of output is very similar to random numbers or the dartboard approach. Good Luck with it though. |

Maybe I should have elaborated but did not see a reason for it. After all, the races are in time order and the animals are sorted according MY ranking. if I had allocated prices for them, then they would be in an ascending order. Can't see any problem there? Quote:
Why can't you let us indulge in our little phantasies and let things be? Win lose or break even, when I post I don't ask anyone to follow my tips. |

The text file got scrambled as far as the jump-time is concerned. See if it gets through OK this time? Yup, seems to be OK! Must have been a gremlin in the works, was all right on this side. Oh well never mind. |

Hardly my fault that I found it originally confusing then. I was only trying to understand your method. i best leave you to it , as our relationship is starting to fall apart again. Cheers and sorry for upsetting you. |

They lose on some on those days but the overall profit covers the losses for each of those particular days. (like Mondays are still in profit despite of two losing Mondays) Also true that there are some big priced winners amongst the smaller ones, but I name those dogs in advance not claim them in retrospect! My methods maybe unorthodox and frowned upon by the "purist", but so what? It's the bottom line that matters! Here are the results, should be easy to check, all dividends are Supertab. |

In real life, hopefully, a punter would bet according to his own judgment and markets. As I certainly do. |

After all the mistakes I made in posting (old files) today, here is the outcome of today's effort. (one race was cancelled at Strathalbyn)
Again I emphasise the fact that I count every selection as a bet and even so it nearly broke even on place and narrowly missed on some wins. But in all fairness "shouda-coulda-woulda" in this game don't count. It was, as I stated in the title, an experiment, didn't expect any reaction whatsoever let alone a hostile one. If we don't try new things new discoveries will never be made and if new ways are discouraged by being clobbered on the head at birth then they never will be! But never mind, I leave this field to the tried and true fellows here who are obviously infallible and know it all. Good luck to you all. |

a friend recently said to me "scientific knowledge doubles every 5 years, so what scientists believed 5 years ago could be proven wrong today of course, scientists are continually dedicating themselves to new research. mathematicians just continue to pontificate and ignore facts which might conflict with their theories." which provides us our bread an butter |
