Got a blackbooker running in gosford today that am pretty confident on. Race 7 Azzamethyst. Booked it two starts ago when it flashed home for 4th over 1600. Won last start over 2000 and should have no probs with the extra 100. Should be e/w odds.

Sportz 15th December 2005 12:58 PM

Yeah, it was amazing odds last run, considering how it went the previous start..

Staurdee 17 December

G'day People

Here are a couple I'll be betting on today...

PURE VELOCITY FLEMINGTON R9 No.3 (2000m)
SA visitor (ex-Victorian anyway I think) brought across to pinch a few from "us". Was beaten by 4 lengths last start when drawn wide. Again no favours from the barrier today, but should be nice e/way odds. Betting 1 x 4

SUPERFICIAL NEWCASTLE R3 No.2 (1400m)
Drawn nicely today and really deserves to break through and again should be at nice odds. Betting 1 x 2

SMART MAXIE RANDWICK R8 No.10 (1100m)
HAs been in terrific form has "Group One" Glenn today and should really give this a shake. Does love this distance and should break maiden status @ Royal Randwick. Betting 1 x 2

Good Luck People....... ;)

Stix 17th December 2005 01:21 PM

Another one:

MEL EAGLE FARM R4 No.2 (1200m)
Betting - Win

Stix 17th December 2005 01:56 PM

Off to a GOOD start.....

Mav's mate Wenceslas Square FINALLY won it's first race!!! If you could ignore the fact that he had gone 23 races without a win, he did actually look like a good thing today.

I wonder if Mav had a few bucks on him.

It NEVER looks like a good thing Sportz.... tho It will probably go on and win a GR1 now ... if it does it will do it without my money :)

maverick1993 22nd December 2005 01:06 AM

lol..i gave up on this horse ages ago..would take more than a $3 divie to get me interested,,
This was a suitable race though and he trialled very very well by all reports..
has won $96,000 before today so he must be doing something right...
i'm like X ..hes taken enough of my money..
anyway i'm on a break during the week,,,saving it all for chrissie eve ,..looks a good card..

Sportz 22nd December 2005 09:30 PM

I think my new years resolution is going to have to be to show something like the faith that Mav shows his horses. Absolutely kicking myself right now!!! Kadazan, the horse which won the last in Sydney at HUGE odds was believe it or not, one of my blackbookers today. He had actually had two unplaced runs since I put him in the blackbook in late November, but you really should give a horse 3 runs before you discard them. Anyway, I sat here just watching the huge odds on the screen not being able to decide if I should back it or not. Funny thing is if it had been 10-1 or something, I definitely would have backed it, but at 100-1, I didn't even end up putting a dollar each way on it. I did put it in a couple of any2s and got a little bit out of it that way, but right now, I just can't believe that I had a great chance to back a $132 winner and didn't. How dumb. This isn't the first time this has happened. I missed out on a 70-1 shot in similar circumstances, simply because I pay too much damn attention to the odds of the horse. :o

Sportz 22nd December 2005 09:43 PM

.... and I apologise sincerely that I didn't give out the tip to you guys, because I'm sure you wouldn't have worried about the odds!

maverick1993 22nd December 2005 10:05 PM

Unlucky Sportz...i show alot of faith in my horses but usually they've done enough to keep me interested Moonbi Nymph was a good example ..always had excuses,, Riding tactics ,,bad luck or whatever.....if they've put together 2 shockers with no excuses i'd usually discard them...

Remeber that old grey horse that Mr Ed and i had followed but jumped off and he won during the spring at 200's ...

i think we've all got these types of stories...it'll do your head in thinking to much about them :)

Oaksnaf 22nd December 2005 10:13 PM

Honestly now i never look at the odds if i am going to judge any runner by its form. It has absolutely no relevance to how the horse will run and its just a bunch of other, however mis-informed opinions. All the tote shows me, is what i will get if my selection wins, not what will win.

Sportz 23rd December 2005 05:41 AM

That's why I'm so mad at myself. I didn't back the horse because of other people's opinion, not mine.

the freek 23rd December 2005 02:36 PM

sportz, hate to rub it in but I also had it blackbooked, backed it earlier in the night when showing about $40, so I just went 5x10, couldn't believe final divvy !

Sportz 23rd December 2005 04:58 PM

:(

Well done, mate. It's my own silly fault. I should have done the same.

Yank Picks

Here are the top yank picks today for Canberra and Scone

Canberra:

R1 #1 exotic:box 1,2
R3 #1
R5 #3 exotic:Box 3,1

These often tend to be at low odds, with an occasional exception.

TheAvenger 30th December 2005 01:32 PM

I seem to have a bad case of seconditis today.

Glenn

TheAvenger 31st December 2005 11:09 AM

Terrible picks, sorry. Happy New Year to all.

Glenn

TheAvenger 1st January 2006 05:04 AM

We don't get Australian racing for the next two days. Anyone know where I can get some tips for Hong Kong?

Regards,

Glenn

luv2bet 1st January 2006 04:31 PM

Well Noisy Princess finally won for us....... Good solid win, heads off for the penola cup now on the 12th, should go well.

Happy new year to all.

luv2bet 2nd January 2006 02:22 PM

Change of plans, noisy to run at vic park on the 14th in a fillies and mares...

Couple for today.
Morphetville
Race 5.. Liked the way our sharapova won last start and think its extremely good value at 10s. Marju snip is the obvious danger but at those odds will be left alone. Dont think theres much between these two.

Race 6.. Going for another here at e/w odds in windswept autumn. Goes up a few kgs but with zanker and the claim shouldnt have too much affect. Long time between drinks but showed last start it will get the distance.

Race 7.. The interesting runner here is chew on your boot. Long way for him to come over for nothing, I would expect a good run. The 2 toppy's can race well fresh and will work around these with the favourite. (balsamico)

good luck today to all

Silver_and_sand 2nd January 2006 04:42 PM

Anyone else like Shinko Blu and Ruby Trois at Flemington Race 9? Might have an eachway go on both.

Good luck!

Sportz 2nd January 2006 04:58 PM

Yep. I liked Sorenstam when the track was wet, but now that it's dry, both of those runners you mentioned have a good chance. I reckon the four at the top are the ones to think about. After what happened in the previous race though, who knows???

maverick1993 3rd January 2006 08:49 PM

Hi guys ..still on a break and recovering from a disasterous day on Saturday..
have a few runners tomorrow
Eagle Farm
*Jachaze, *Creative Sounds, *Mighty Victory, *Shanambah
Murray Bridge
*Chantal Sally
Bunbury
*Tropical Swell

will be droping into a tab to look at these ..
missed a few winners in the last couple of days..always the case when you dont back them..Excellent Anne and the tri paid heaps.. Road trip , Sydney George :(

Good luck all :)

Mr ed 4th January 2006 09:30 AM

Don't mind NEW KID IN TOWN first up today guys.

He is a good galloper who was green as grass when last in work, he certainly shouldn't still be a maiden (it took soi cowboy to just beat him) so i don't mind the 'class rise'. He has the best trainer and jockey in the race and the fact he is in a C1 aswell as being first up over 1400 both tells me that he's going very well and has done enough work for a forward showing. The field he meets today is not overly strong with Fine linen and Tactical Jack looking the hardest to beat. From barrier 1 he can take a forward possie and does posess a good turn of foot.
