Have not rated this race yet, but top four look awfully hard to beat.

Have a healthy respect for the former eastern state's galloper BARALAE. Nice win 2nd up at Pinjarra - 1500m. Has won over 2100m in Vic.

ALIBI BAY freshened up following his unplaced run in the cup, looks nicely weighted.

SPACE AGE an impressive winner on Sat, although wins in WA have been over shorter distances has won over 2100m in the east.

KIM LISA - return to form with the addition of blinkers last start, when running on strongly behind Kentiara in the La Trice Classic (1800m) a couple of weeks back. Has won over 2200m at Ascot.

Actually the GERALDTON CUP is on Sunday, Sandgroper

If (1) Space Age repeats his last run, should win.

Like you Sandgroper, have a healthy respect for (4) Baralae.

Not sure about (2) Kim Lisa & (3) Alibi Bay, neither have shown much for a while, but as you have said, Kim Lisa's last run was an improvement on previous starts.

On best form (7) Jeune's Fantasy would go close, last start winner Mt Barker, so now finally back in form, after returning from a long break.

Of the locals, give (5) Classic Piece a strong chance. All 8 wins have been at GERALDTON & has run the odd good race in town.

Yes the cup is on Sunday MyHatMyCoat, my mistake

After rating this race (there's a few without town form) does look more open than I first thought. If you fancy any of the emergencies and they get a start, not without an EW chance.

I agree with MyHatMyCoat - Jeune's Fantasy & Classic Piece, are also genuine chances.

Good luck if you have a bet.

Appreciate the input fellows. I think the NSWTAB is covering Geraldton on Sunday but not all races will be covered by SKY - no doubt the cup will be included at least

haven't done the form but Alibi Bay will win for mine. Class will be the telling factor.

$1.50 favs. rarely go around in Saturday gallops so what a shocker by Love a Storm today, gone before they straightened.
Looked a tough day, westerners.

MyHatMyCoat 18th January 2004 10:49 AM

Turned out a tough day anchor. Wouldn't write off Love a Storm. I rated on top, but only just, so started way under the odds in my opinion. May have been a bit jaded from her hard 1st up run.

Re my tips, Seton Hill scratched, Solar Impact beaten by a very smart one, Rulain ran a very cheeky race at good odds. The rest disapointing - especially Constantinople. Not suited by slowly run race early & could have been better ridden. Will be watching next start with interest.
