As a little history lesson- Benalta was the original name of the town, but when it was sent to the registry where some peanut forgot to cross the "t" and hence from that day to this it has been known as BenaLLa.......

Hey Oak - you ever work for the government? (LOL )

Got nothing wrong with Benella at all.

Tenacious Spirit 25th October 2005 11:37 AM

The same as i left it,,,not the same as in 1 minute before i left it :)

maverick1993 25th October 2005 04:28 PM

Won't be on later or tomorrow so i'll post my short list for tomorrow.
Werribee
*Holidazzle, *Danish Prince, *Pure Silence, *Major's Creek.
Eagle Farm
*Machtig Kaki Saya, *Diurnal, *A sir La, *Divine Etoile.
Balaklava
*Rotoga.

Will see how the track plays in Weribee ,,,also Eagle Farm looks as if the track will be rain affected,,hard to say as these storms we are getting are a bit unpredictable,,,,

Good luck all :)

Sportz 26th October 2005 11:04 AM

WERRIBEE

Race 1 - Very impressed with 2 UTILITY two starts ago, but not so good on Sunday on a wet track. A quick backup and perhaps he can find that good form again.

Race 3 - Wouldn't normally be keen on a race like this, but Glen Boss has gone to Werribee for just one ride on 1 APOLOGIA. That's a tip in itself. Has trialled well, but may be a bit short. Possibly 9 LOMBARDY could be another to consider.

Race 5 - I like the recent form around 7 DARK MASK, especially if we get some rain, and also quite keen on 1 PRINCE EIRAM which was 4th behind our old mate Blue Collar Jack last start. I'll be looking for value around these two runners. (7,1,2 - 9,5 - 6,4)

TheAvenger 26th October 2005 11:54 AM

Anything at Gosford today, Sportz, others?

Glenn

Sportz 26th October 2005 11:57 AM

WERRIBEE

Race 7 - I don't mind 4 TALONS SHOWN here. Much better than recent form suggests and could be good value today. Will be looking at perhaps an each way bet on her. I think the main dangers are 6 MAGGIE'S MATE & 11 CENTASHANI. (4,6,11 - 3,7 - 1,8)

Race 8 - Will be waiting to see what happens with the weather here. As it stands, I'm quite keen on the chances of 4 PURE SILENCE & 10 COALESCE. They're both in tremendous form and appear to have an edge on their rivals here. 1 ROMAN ARCH & 2 CHARNWOOD GREEN shouldn't be underestimated though. Both were quite competitive with Activation last start. (4,10,1 - 2,3 - 6,9). If it rains, I may have to change my thinking considerably.

Race 9 - Good each way chance here for 2 HIGH ACADEMY. Nice form line around Volitant last start and a good wet track record if it comes to that. The dangers are 1 POLISH CLOWN & 5 LIGHTOFPROSPERITY. (2,1,5 - 6,4)

IMHO it should stay fine today and John Russell (race caller) has just given the all clear.....

hope we haven't mozzed it !:D

Merriguy 26th October 2005 12:21 PM

APOLOGIA a bit of a fizz, Sportz :( ; though UTILITY brought home the bacon :)

Stix 26th October 2005 12:24 PM

Proves $,$$$,$$$ don't buy you a ready made (or bred) champion....... :D

Sportz 26th October 2005 12:31 PM

GOSFORD

Race 2 - Not overly keen on this race, but 2 INGIRO was impressive last time, and no reason why he can't win again.

Race 3 - Not sure about some of the form here, so take it easy, but I have a couple of top triallers listed. 1 LEONDARI is the top pick and is likely to be short, and 2 COUNT OF EIGHT also trialled well and could be nice value.

Race 4 - None of these have records to get excited about, but if you want to bet here, I feel you should concentrate on 1 MAGIC PINS & 2 EXINITE. (1,2,4 - 3 - 5,7)

Race 6 - 8 ZOUZOU is the one to beat here. A good effort for 2nd first up and a top chance to go one better today. 7 XAAR XAAR & 11 PRINCESS DE PARIS could be the dangers. (8,7,11 - 6,2 - 3,9)

Race 7 - I think 2 BULLET EXPRESS is the way to go here. A good consistent record and Larry Cassidy jumps back on after winning on him 2 starts ago. 4 FULL ON MAGIC could be a good value runner after a nice effort first up. (2,4,1 - 6,3)

Race 8 - I like the chances of 4 VOLTDANZE here. A nice run last start and definitely looks well suited here. 2 JIM JUMP & 1 OSCA are the obvious dangers. (4,2,1 - 12,5 - 3,9)

Now you can see why I wasn't keen.

Didn't bet on that race or on Werribee R3 either. Apologia was a ridiculous price and did nothing. (just like Ingiro) I'm normally VERY keen on Wednesdays, but not today. The standard is pretty poor. I normally have about 12 betting races on a Wednesday, but I think it'll be half that today.

or box the first 3..... well done mate. 1st 4 was nice divvy.... :)

Sportz 26th October 2005 01:34 PM

Yes, I was VERY confident about that race and I had a good result. On the back of a nice little result with Count Of Eight, I should probably quit while I'm ahead. :)

Nice Any2's sports (?)

Sportz 26th October 2005 03:48 PM

Yeah. Funny thing is I would definitely have had Wild Classic in the trifecta tips on a wetter track. Oh well, never mind. I'm nicely in front today.

maverick1993 26th October 2005 11:36 PM

A good day today
Bets on A Sir LA, Divine Etiole , Holidazzle and Majors Creek..

only the one winner but at nice odds with all the trimmings...a nice profit for the day..

allowed myself 4 bets today..being wednesday and a cup day after all..
thing is i'd of had A sir la as one of my 2...the Admiralty's in the wet should excell...i have a little Admiralty filly i have high hopes for,,,,

A few for tomorrow
* Sister Katherine (Townsville)
*Mybigfatgreekhorse (NZ)
*Stitching (Seymour)

w924 27th October 2005 10:32 AM

HI Mav, you still have the finger on the button..good work.

what are we going to do with Moonbi Nymph next time? ...any excuses for its previous run?

Good luck today!

Sportz 27th October 2005 12:55 PM

A few races I'm considering today:

SEYMOUR
Race 5 - 7 SWEPT PAST, 2 Just Like Tooloora, 1 El Gitano (7,2,1 - 5,6 - 3,10)
Race 8 - 2 BREEZY, 9 Scarcity, 12 Stitching (2,9,12 - 5,1 - 3,7)

CANTERBURY
Race 7 - 1 THE JONKER, 7 Marquise Star, 5 Hint Of Success (1,7,5 - 4,3 - 8,9)

WAGGA
Race 5 - 4 GREY DECEIVER, 3 Boendso, 7 Portland Gem (4,3,7 - 1,2,5)

As per usual, you should consider Darren Beadman in these Sydney midweek meetings. He has a few good ones at Canterbury today. Race 1 there is tough. I actually like 4 horses in the 6 horse field. (4,5,1,6) I'll wait to have a look at the odds there. Some others that I think you could look at are R2-2, R5-6, R6-2.

Sportz 27th October 2005 01:29 PM

Oh, another one I forgot to mention was SEYMOUR R6-2 TARA'S HALLS. Has a good record 2nd up and at the track and I'm expecting it to go well. It may not be great value though.

By the way, Canterbury R2-3 Cash Carter has opened up incredibly short on the TABs today, so there must be a good tip around for it today. It HAS won 2 of 3 first up, so who knows.

Sportz, I think you'll find that all those with the Whisper tipping method/subscription have been tipped into it and have put there cash on early ! :)

Tenacious Spirit 27th October 2005 01:49 PM

Hey Sportz, how do you usually work around your selections.
Something like for Race 5

TRIFECTA
7,2,1/7,2,1,5,6/7,2,1,5,6,3,10

Cheers in advance,
TS

Sportz 27th October 2005 01:50 PM

Yes Stix, that was another thing that passed my mind.

I remember a few years ago there was a PPM system that was actually doing okay for a while. I'd worked out most of the rules myself, but not all. It didn't matter. I just had to look at the opening TAB figures every Saturday morning and you could spot them. Horses which would normally be $10 or something would open up $1.50. :D

Haven't given up yet..had an awkward barrier last run and was ridden forward ,,,i was hoping bowditch would ride her off the pace and ride her cold..no doubt he would of seen her previous run where she did well leading and decided she had to lead..this is the problem when you chop and change jocks...i think her best runs have been from behind and hope they wake up to themselves..
I'll give her another chance as shes had excuses..but be carefull as i'm very forgiving .as most on here would know...(merlot now :( )

Have the two today..Stitching and Sister Katherine..
been going very well of late during the week,,very consistent...i'm more than happy with the new method...miss jagging those roughies i used to get though.

Hi TS,

There are different ways I back the multis depending on my degree of confidence for the race. If it's a big meeting and a race where I'm really confident, I'd be prepared to spend up to $60 on a trifecta, but at a meeting like today, I usually like to spend no more than $30. That's what that 3/5/7 option in your example costs. It's also $30 for 3/6/6 or 2/7/7 or a 5 horse box or a roving banker with 5 others.

I simply post a suggested order on here though, because I don't really like to tell people how they should bet. If anyone wants to follow the tips, it's up to them how they do it. And besides, I don't actually make up my mind completely about how I'm betting until just before the race. It's a bit late to post my exact trifecta tips then. And sometimes I don't even end up taking a trifecta, but simply take an any2 or quinella instead.

Ended up the price actually wasn't too bad. I was a bit worried it might be odds on.

maverick1993 27th October 2005 03:10 PM

i had an e/w on Labayadere and alittle any2 for fun..it paid $8 but the other combo of 2,8 paid almost twice as much even though Lay bayadere was twice as much on the tote as the 8....
dam any 2's .. :)

Sportz 27th October 2005 03:24 PM

13 was in the tips Mav. 8 wasn't. That probably had something to do with it.
