Well done Chuck ..a good days work.

Have a few runners tomorrow.
Cranbourne
*Hoaks, *Ducks, *Life's A Joy, *Free At Last/ Bazzelle, *Lords Of Lauriston
Ipswich
*Charlie Gun, *Bound For Victory, *Space Dream.
Wyong
*White Christmas

Have had a couple of days off..still recovering from Saturday and the footy on Sunday night,.
isnt it great that those Southerners dont rate our Brissie horses..Black Ink did us proud,,reminded me of the time i got 40's for Starcraft on his first start in Sydney...could Black ink be as good ?? who knows alittle to early to tell..

Like a few tomorrow..Charlie Gun is racing in good form, Space dream looks well placed,,,White christmas has shown some ablility,,
in Cranny,, Hoaks won like a superstar last start..might be a horse of some talent...Lifes a joy will be suited here,,Ducks nominated for the cups so he must have something unless Singo has his hand on it,,can really hit the line hard ,,looking for longer but doesnt have to beat much here..LOL from the inside will give a good sight,,

Good luck all :)

Chuck 5th October 2005 07:45 AM

Ipswich 2-4 Mini Matilda
Ipswich 8-3 Space Dream (was it Mav who likes 117?)
Wyong 6-7 Rubinda
Cranbourne 7-10 Life's a Joy
Cranbourne 10-10 Black Bubble
Mt Gambier 5-4 Mezaire

in the cranbourne cup i like Show Barry marginally

yeah, its about time....paid $5.20 but i didn't havea bet

TheAvenger 5th October 2005 11:26 AM

Sportz, others:

Any thoughts earlier at Cranbourne or Wyong? I appreciate what you have posted, but I only get race 1-7 at Cran and 1-6 at Wyong.

Best Regards,

Glenn

Sportz 5th October 2005 11:54 AM

That's a bit ********** Glenn. It'll probably improve for you when Daylight Saving comes in here in a few weeks time.

Some tough races there and I didn't study Wyong too much, but here's a few thoughts:

Cran R3 - 2 ORANGE FREE STATE, 7 Johnny Knoxville (2,7,4,10 - 9,3)
Cran R4 - 2 KELISION, 1 Ragazzo (2,1,5,7,9)
Cran R5 - 13 SWEPT PAST, 11 World Exclusive (13,11,3,5 - 2,4,10)
Cran R6 - 7 ABITAKASH, 8 Ducks, 1 Sunboy (7,8,1,9 - 11,13,10)
Cran R7 - 10 LIFE'S A JOY, 3 Valkyrie Diva, 12 Regal Oamaru (10,3,12 - 4,2,8,7)

Wyng R2 - 3 RIVERINE (3,8,9,4 - 1,5)
Wyng R4 - 6 BEST ON BOARD
Wyng R5 - 2 MONTE DREAMER, 1 Sporting Globe (2,1,5 - 7,4,8)
Wyng R6 - 7 RUBINDA, 4 Rich Erin, 10 Danehill Lass (7,4,10 - 8,5,3)

Damn. I could have tipped you the first winner at Wyong, but when I looked at the odds, it was paying $2.50, so I ignored that race. I just see that it's won paying 3 times that!!! :(

TheAvenger 5th October 2005 11:59 AM

Thanks!

Glenn

That #8 paid $12.60 to win here.

Sportz 5th October 2005 12:10 PM

Yeah, I was going to back it but didn't think it was any value at the odds it was showing just a few minutes before the race. I should have kept my eye on the odds for a few minutes longer. :(

Desi 5th October 2005 12:44 PM

Belmont...
Just a quick summary for Belmont today as have the ma-in-law :( arriving this afternoon so got to do a few things around the garden (lol) and shopping...

R1 Air Race (is back to distance and conditions) and PJs ride will be the faves...Backed Silent Wishes last start...had it all against her ...Stewards report read...blood in mouth before the start...jumped awkwardly...threw head in air fos some distance...commenced to run keenly at 700m and then blocked for run 450m to 200m...She was on a slow track and ran all over the place before flying the last 50m to finish 2nd to Sweet Record (PJ)...Vern rates him and I will be taking on an each way...lots of others for the multis...Fleeting Angel, Lounge Hound, Blancmange, Orpenchic and Try For Value.

R2 Will I have another go on Sergeant Mack or is he going to always be the bridesmaid? Why not...last chance and has been flying from the back...not sure what sort of pace will be on...Delta Master, Our Blitz, Exstra and Lets Go Thommo for the exotics...

R3 Zedfire is consistent and will be fave after a couple of months off and goes well fresh. Sandy Point is carrying a bit of weight but has Jessies claim and shes flying at the moment...Evaluate tried to steal it from S Point front running last time and will try the same again on a dead track (last start was slow)... Sandy Point to sneak in again.

R4 Keys Ace has been running on in better races than this and is the one to beat...like Talbot Bay and will check price before deciding how to bet...

R5 Ive done a lot of $$ on Zedeisha and will leave her (shell probably win lol) and go for Stratham Streaker who is finishing very strongly (same conditions as last time and is peaking) Rosskaen for odds and multis...

R6 Coalseam has to win won soon...this should be the one...Vasari beat them by 3 lengths (1400m) last out and now gets a firmer track so will be the danger- Jaunty Lad and Super Tom the multis.

R7 Lady Avonlea owes me plenty and Im going to give her one more go...Baltic Boy (has been consistent in better races) and The Quartermaster was an improvers first up run last start will be the faves...will include Vie For Vanity and Uncle Graham in exotics (box?)...

Good luck all today...will be at the track looking for some value before mum turns up...:D

I didn't like this race because it was only 1000m and I don't usually bet on anything under 1200m. Glenn, are there any beliefs over there in the US about which distances are the best to bet on? Personally, I prefer 1400m-2000m although I will bet on other distances occasionally, depending on the class of the race. I very rarely bet in races less than 1200m though.

TheAvenger 5th October 2005 01:09 PM

We generally agree that its best to avoid the really short ones, less than 1100 M. Also, maiden races, especially 2 year olds are tough. In spite of this, some here love maiden races, and we even have "quarter horses" whose most common distance is about 400 meters, (yes, thats 400 m) Each to his own, I say. I love thoroughbred racing. It is generally thought that the 1200 meter races are the easiest to pick a winner.

Damn, I just put the 10 and 4 together in a quinella at Wyong race #3, and the #4 was at 50-1 here. I love it! I have bet the 1st 5 races at Cranbourne and lost them all. This may be a track that doesn't like me?

Regards,

Glenn

mad 5th October 2005 01:25 PM

Got some time on my hands this arvo, so gonna stop a coupla' Nags from winning.

NR 4 Don Ciccio
NR 5 Jailbreak
NR 6 Danehill Lass
NR 7 Western City

VR 8 Douro Valley, Show Barry
VR 9 MontCalm

Some roughies thrown in there for good measure, have a good one!

Sportz 5th October 2005 01:38 PM

Well done Glenn. I'm not liking the look of Cranbourne now. It's been raining pretty consistently there and the track's been downgraded. I did all my ratings for a dry track, and I think there might be some funny results now. If it continues to rain, Gaju Chief will come right into calculatons for the Cup and to a lesser extent Charnwood Green and Hunter Hermitage. And in R9, Shadow and Beecher's Way will have to be included.

Looks tough there. As I suggested in my previous post, the track has been downgraded. Wet trackers are now starting to come right into it, whereas I wasn't considering them this morning when I worked out my tips.

mad 5th October 2005 01:43 PM

Wooo Hooo!

Don Ciccio $7.60, might stop now cos it won't get much better me thinks.

Hope ya got on.

Sportz 5th October 2005 02:02 PM

Believe it or not, Run For Glory was given out as the late mail tip for R6 at Cranbourne. Comes home at $17+.

TheAvenger 5th October 2005 02:02 PM

You're right, Sportz. One of my betting sites said that # 10 and 11 in Cranbourne 6 are "mudlarks" , so I bet them both to win, the #11 winning at 15-1 on my TAB. A $32 winner with our $2 minimum bets. The 10 ran 3rd!

Glenn

TheAvenger 5th October 2005 02:21 PM

Cranbourne #7 offtrack picks are #5 and #1.

I'm already having a quiet one. But I don't mean a drink. I mean I'm having a quiet betting day. After it started to rain at Cranbourne, I decided that I would cut right down today and it's proved to be a very wise decision. Will still have a bit of a go at the Cup, but I'm not going to risk too much.

Cheers Slowman and Stix...stuck to the on pace runners who were coming in (mostly faves) thankfully stayed away from Lady Avonlea but Sergeant Mack and Silent Wishes (good 4th tho) were disappointing...good day but still struggling with the Eastern states punting...mustnt grumble...had a stay at home dinner...made butter chicken and rice with rotis and curried potatoes...for the ma in law!

To be honest the missus has been ill with a serious health problem so have cut back on the punting but enjoy viewing the videos and going to Belmont as much as I can...

Had a horse trial last Monday...Western Spur...is really a 1600m + runner and lacks the sort of pace required for sprints but finished on 5-6 length 5th behind winner...might start at Northam soon not sure how he will go...keep you guys posted!! :)

Sportz 6th October 2005 01:06 PM

Hope Mrs Desi gets better soon.

Stix 6th October 2005 01:45 PM
