I did some development of an NRL ratings spreadsheet thingamy last year, then pretty much forgot about it. So with no back-testing at all, here are my tips for Round 1:
South Sydney Rabbitohs Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles New Zealand Warriors North Queensland Cowboys Gold Coast Titans Canberra Raiders Penrith Panthers Melbourne Storm Each game looks very close. My method has a margin of a converted try or less in each - perhaps the schedulers used something similar in hopes of a blockbuster start to the season. Looking for value (on Centrebet), I see it foremost with the outsiders in H2H markets (at this stage selections will be either head-to-head, line and perhaps under-over; the other bet types I haven't looked at as yet), so selections are: Gold Coast Titans - WIN @ 2.60 Canberra Raiders - WIN @ 2.80 I'll watch an imaginary bank of $1000 dwindle away as I bet 2% (i.e. $20, this week) on each selection. Hopefully some success - or otherwise - will prompt me to put some more work into this. |
