One that I will be backing tomorow will be Prior Viscount. It won a maiden plate on the 4th june in a very impressive manner. He was drawn the widest runner, got caught a little wide early making his way across the field. The thing that impressed me was the turn of foot 300 out, making pretty easy work of it hitting the line strongly. With only 3 starts under his belt and racing from a great stable, I think he will win a few more yet.
Canterbury Race 6 no 8.

maverick1993 14th June 2005 08:52 PM

werribee race 4 No 1 Moggs.
I've been following this horse through the grades and was impresses with him last start..Not sure what price we'll get but there'll be speed on which will suit him and he looks good in this..theres a couple of promising types in this so am hoping for some value but with Shinn aboard and a good barrier ..will be hoping i think..
A horse in this that has shown some ability ..Tall Trees... ...he was trained by Corstens but is now trained by a david Cave of whom i know nothing about, ... his last run he showed he might be on the way back and maybe the new trainer has found the secret to him..he might be grab a place at huge odds in this....might add value to the tris.
Werribee race 5
Our Court...this horse made up huge ground last start behind Willie Comand and has been in good form..2 starts ago was only just behind delvechio..
he'll have to get back and the tracks a worry for him.. but there will be speed on ..
Campaign is a horse i've been on so i'll be sticking with him..he didnt get the lead last start but still boxed on nicely..this race he'll lead for sure and if he dictates and if sneaks away on the turn..he'll win this..Hong Kong Beri confirmed his form by winning his next start..
I'll be backing both these horses if i get the right odds..
i'm willing to risk El Zahia ,,he hasnt beaten anything yet..and hopefully they'll be all over him so i'l get a better price about Our Court and Campaign.

A horse that needs our Forum support is Lair ,,Gawler race 8 no 3..
this horse i think beat Starcraft yonks ago and i saw him at eagle farm run a huge race as well,,running favourite i think.....he moved down to SA and got some sort of virus ...but he looks over that now,,races well fresh and is 0 for 20 ...
i sort of feel sorry for him and hope he wins...wont have my cash on him but i will be cheering him home.

Leica Lite ..is another booker,,Canterbury R4..it'll be tough to beat the toppy with the claim..but this filly ran a huge race last start and has had a freshen which will suit her over the shorter trip..has a crappy barrier which is the only concern she'll coming late though......might be at nice odds ..

these are the only races i'm looking at tomorrow,,,,taking it easy for awhile..

good luck all :)

Sportz 15th June 2005 03:28 PM

Well done with El Man Goss Mr Ed. What was the run like? Do you think he can measure up to group racing?

Sportz 15th June 2005 03:29 PM

......and well done with Our Court Mav.

maverick1993 15th June 2005 03:29 PM

Hope you guys got on :)

Our Court with wet track form and a good jockey and also some good performances of late was huge value....i must admit i was expecting about 6's ....
Campaign cant run on the wet but scared me alittle when he got the lead so easily and was just cantering along..
But a great ride by Gauci stole it...the fav ran well and impressed me alot....will keep an eye on this horse.

Had a big go at Moggs...the odds were just to good to refuse...havent seen the race yet but heard it and it sounded like he took off from the back fairly early ,,,something you have to do there at Werribee and tired but still ran into 3rd...
when he gets on a track that suits and maybe over alittle more ground he'll be right in it..

Also Leica Lite ran away with my money...but i wasnt to dissapointed...had a bad barrier and did alot of work,,sometimes 4 wide....havent dropped off it just yet..

I've have a litte token $10 e/w on Lair in the last at Adelaide...poor thing needs alot of help but i'm doing my best to get it over the line..

Well done Mr ed on El Man Goss...just got there ...was a huge effort and yes your right he looks above average ....

also have a bet on Kennedy to win the MOM tonight...i am a Queenslander but he's been in such fine form ..he looks good value at 11's..
Go the Queenslanders.. :)

maverick1993 15th June 2005 03:31 PM

thanks Sportz....check out Lair..in Adelaide...$6 here and $17 in Sa ...its not my $20 bringing him in is it ..lol
seems as though the brissie boys remember him..

Sportz 15th June 2005 03:32 PM

That's okay. Remember, you should bet with your head, not your heart. :)

Have you put your SOO tips in for the tipping comp yet Mav?

Sportz 15th June 2005 03:35 PM

Not a bad run. Might have got a place.

maverick1993 15th June 2005 03:40 PM

yeah..great run..not sure it even likes the wet....
cant beleive the money that came for it..
poor old lair..still a maiden but it looks like he'll break that this prep..i'm gunna follow him...no serious money but will have something on him..

I actually did ratings similar to my horse system for the SOO ...Kennedy was my highest rating Cocker roach..

Berrigan rated highly for the Queenslanders....might put the $30 from lair on Berrigan for the first try scorer..

oops thanks Sportz..will jump over there now and put my tips on...i'm trying to get away from the wooden spoon...i must be odds on i think :)

Mr ed 15th June 2005 04:19 PM

Well done with Our Court Mav, great ride by the Gouch, Campaign was nearly sniffing the grass they were going so easily. Race really didn't suit horses like El Zahia and Opio Miss both ran very well.

El Man Goss was a great win, especially after looking at his condition, he was pretty fat and I think that's why he eased (got $4 with Winbet). I really think he has a big handicap race in him, the straight track suits him perfectly so maybe a race like the Standish (or one similar). He is not a big horse and i think he will derive great benefit from the run. I hope i'm not getting the tag of favorite backer on here, i promise i don't look at prices or tipsters before making my selections, i actually get pretty dirty when everyone picks them, like today.

Moggs was a nice run Mav, just got to far back but finished strongly, he looks close to a win in this class, a track like Sandown or Flemington (already a winner) would suit him amiccably.

Cheers ED

maverick1993 15th June 2005 05:04 PM

Thanks Mr Ed..i've been lucky with a few double figure odds horses lately, but have no trouble backing favourites..Quintenella was one i backed heavily the other day..

Black Book..
Was wondering with those of you of that use racenet Blackbook if you've had any problems..
I have Maewest in the book and she's racing in about 40 mins,,,but i never recieved the notice,, sms or email....i think the race is alittle hard for her but she's good fresh with no weight and worth atleast alittle e/w...
i noticed in the book that i had Sweet n tidy but had spelled it sweet and tidy,,,duh...nice winner to..oh well. :)

Maewest is part of my WA stable that includes, caulfield jim. Ja rule and Grand Merlot....i have a fairly good record over there with these ..must admit i'm not right into the scene over there but learning ..

Mr ed 15th June 2005 10:43 PM

Same horses, racing on the same tracks, Perth should be the only place we bet.

Bad luck with Prior Viscount L2B, he might have just been a little flat after a hard debut run. How good is Beadman going, he gets the good horses but he can certainly turn a good thing into a certainty.

I won't be able to get on Sovereign saturday, anyone know how i could? other then driving 4 hours.

Yes, you have to spell it 100% correctly. Are you sure you did that with Maewest?

As well as simply receiving the emails, I also login to the Racenet Blackbook website each day and they have all of my blackbook horses listed there that are running that day and the next 1 or 2 days as well.

Of course, this is all of little use if you then stupidly decide to ignore one of your blackbook horses and it wins at $71!!!

..... and Paul Harvey. Another 3 winners yesterday from 5 rides including yet another last race winner.

I notice Maewest ran 3rd Mav. You might get a win out of that one shortly.

maverick1993 16th June 2005 04:11 PM

Thats how i knew She was running Sportz..i logged on to add a horse and then noticed her..but she wasnt listed in the email..weird..

Nice little return ..i liked the way she fought on down the straight against the fav who was always way to good in this..pay to follow her and Grand Merlot who the other day was just beaten first up..he'll apreciatte a bit more distance and looks above average..

Nice win today on Piculet..i've been following this horse from about her 2nd start..when she was just off Johans Toy and then raced in a group1 against lotteria...she's been up and down in grade but today was racing in Class1 after last start flying home in a class 3...
i wasnt the only one on her as she firmed from about 10's to 7's just before jump but she won very well....i was however 1 of the very select few that got the tri...only 1/2 but ..wow :) ..i just love the tris ..

Had a big go at Salsa today who i thought was excellent value and flew home for 2nd...had a good run last time..but still thought she hit the line strong...will stay with this one..
also had an e/w with Rosilie Miss in Townsville ..a horse both Sportz and i have had some success with,,,,she doesnt seem the same horse of late but i thought she was improving as her last run was good...maybe the track although good was alittle shifty..and she hates that..

The bookers have been on quite a roll this week,,, after having a shocker on Saturday..
beers are on me :)

ps...still wondering why Harvey didnt come up to ride Irish Darling ...purton rode her very poorly..

luv2bet 17th June 2005 06:54 PM

black book runner 2morow at sandown. Race 8 umbula. I feel as a front runner it will be much better suited to win at sandown, Last week at flemington there were always going to be the swoopers but things ccould be different this week. In a race with plenty of dangers, (mr eds willie command) as well as reef beach, ill be hoping umbula can lead all the way.
Ill post a couple of others in the morning.
Anyones thoughts are always welcome.

Mr ed 18th June 2005 10:48 AM

Was lazy this weekend, with form so just the main one for me.

Sandown Rc8 No 6 Willie Command - Hot race but will be right there if the track drys out a bit and childs gets him in a forward position, will be having a tri with Umbula, Universal, Reef Beach i think these four have the rest covered.

Chelt Rc 8 No 10 Miss Starnee - In top form but up in class here, will be good double figures and i have to have a bit e/w.

Toowoomba Rc 5 No.1 Tearinupthecountry - Will be no flash odds but looks the winner in this now reasonably small field, fairweather was a good mare down here (don't know what happened) i remember a six length whacking at Werribee then a few town placings, but can't have her on present form. Copper Penny was a much improved run last start and looks the main (only) threat. Will have a big go if even money or more.

Sportz 18th June 2005 03:59 PM

You beauty Ed. Well done with Miss Starnee. Thanks for the tip. :)

Mr ed 18th June 2005 04:12 PM

Thanks mate, was a bit flat after Willie ripped and pulled the whole way, then Miss Starnee came out 4 lengths last, got a lovely run through and was a top effort. Not quite the odds i thought but still a great result.

Sportz 18th June 2005 04:33 PM

I had a great day with my bets, but I'm a bit gun shy about giving out tips these days. Sorry.

maverick1993 18th June 2005 04:43 PM

Nice win there Mr Ed...
I've never seen willie run like that...and i've followed him for awhile...pay to forgive him that run..
Hope you have a win on Tearinup Mr ed..he did win well at the sunny coast..
.i must admit i'm a Red Pill fan,.. but ive used up enough luck today..

One i forgot to mention is Miss Copycat in the last at Belmont...she's a recent addition to my little WA stable and looks good in this....have her anchoring my treble if Bold ransom gets up..

maverick1993 18th June 2005 07:27 PM

Red Pill got the brakes in the straight...a good run by Tearinupthecountry and will follow him through the grades..

Have a few bookers running tomorrow..

Tycoon Rose SC7 No 7....this horse always saves her best for the Sunny coast loves the sting out and has got a good barrier...
sticks n stones won well here last start but has the weight..
Little Punc loves the mud and if it gets to that condition then hes a big chance..
But i like Tycoon Rose ..she owes me..

Statice Warn10 No4 ..this horse has been very lightly raced..but has ability..last start in a hard race was backed into about 7's when i thought he'd be 25's...seems theres a good tip around about him so i doubt he'll be any value...but i wont be taking anything to short..

Brackenette Pm6 No15...good couple of runs this time in and in a very open race has a good a chance as any..should be nice e/w value..

Encosta Rocket SC6 No5 ..i liked the way she hit the line last start...had a bit of condition that day so will improve from the run...nothing much in the race except for the toppy....good e/w

Paris Flyer Pm6 No13..
Is in good form and has a show in this...also like Christie Lee so will back both..

Captain Spalding Warn8 No 3 ...racing very well should win this
Irish Loup Winter Cup Tamworth...can run time and is in good form..

looks like maybe 8 bets for tomorrow..fingers crossed..will see if the racing gods are still smiling down on me ...

Good luck all :)

Mr ed 18th June 2005 11:25 PM

Yeh looked a real chance at the 400 but just died, his problem now is weights, ended up a great place divvy @ $1.70 in an 8 horse field when i thought even money to win but never had a cent on it. Thanks for putting the mozz on with Red Pill to mate, you've backed every winner today CAN I PLEASE JUST HAVE ONE! Nah as i said was fairly lazy with form and simply backed it because of a good last run. Toowoomba probably not his track either. Still in black figures (just) for the day so am perfectly happy, good luck tommorow Mav hope you kill'em again. Finish Uni on Thursday and have a supply of all the victorian races tapes from the last six weeks or so, so might get right into it for a month or two and see how i go. Look forward to conversing with you all when i'm a bit more knowledgable on my races.

Mr ed 19th June 2005 12:22 PM

Had a big go a couple of weeks ago on a horse i have plenty of time for in Mazunda at Sandown, he had been very, very impressive in two country wins and the race looked made to order. He was absolutely donkey licked by Secret Recording who relished the conditions.

I in turn backed Secret Recording at big odds and was less then a length away from top horses like Dismissal and Valedictum. Today he meets a field full of country class, resuming stayers, or past there prime geriatrics and looks far to classy now i know the track is heavy. Drops back from 1300 to 1100 but is a multiple winner at the distance and the bog track always suits horses looking for further. Should be good speed in the race from the likes of Hunter Hermitage and Bella Jinsky and he should park just of them peel out at the 500 and say see ya later.

$3 looks a fair price in my book. As you can see i like my favorites, but finding the true favorites is half the battle i certainly think this deserves the honor.

Cheers ED

luv2bet 19th June 2005 12:41 PM

Gday mr ed,
Over the last month Ive been testing a system with some very encouraging reults. Ill give it a few more weeks of fine tuning then put my ******** on the block and post them here, point of this post was I only have one qualifier for today and it was great reassurance when I seen your post, lets just hope the nag wins!!

Mr ed 19th June 2005 01:03 PM

Here, here, i sincerely hope we don't get gelded off this one.

Mr ed 19th June 2005 02:52 PM

Ouch,

Speaks volumes for the weakness of that race, SR was flat as a tack around the turn but still clung on to second. He just showed none of his customary acceleration whatsoever, track certainly looks to be favouring outside draws. It's a hard game isn't it L2B?

luv2bet 19th June 2005 03:46 PM

It sure is Mr Ed, but although it lost with my staking plan on a 1-4 ratio I still came out with a win. At least no damage done and tomorow is another day. Looks like a quiet week for me as far as blackbookers but should have a few system runners, try and post them if I have a chance.
Well done to you mav, great display of gambling you have shown lately, hope it continues for ya!!

maverick1993 19th June 2005 04:29 PM

thanks Luv2bet....quiet day today though..
bets on Christie Lee, Captain Spalding, Irish Loup and Statice all for return of zilcho..
was at the sales today trying to breed my own winner..and missed the races but will have a look tonight..
fairly lazy with the study of these races and it looks like i got punished for it..
dissapointing about the Sunny Coast ..was very keen on Tycoon Rose ...but she'll keep though ..
A losing day today so time to take stock i think...getting alittle carried away of late..

Mr ed 19th June 2005 08:49 PM

Lovely run by Statice Mav, much bigger odds then i expected.

Tommorow sees the long awaited return of Sovereign Fire, have been waiting a while for this one and hopefully is worth the wait. Was a great Benalla run last time when got shuffled right back. Is entered in the 5th at Narrandera and this weak C2 looks a most suitable assignment. Can't get any real guide on the field as i have no videos but it looks limited to say the least. She will be well suited by the longer trip and be very strong at the end. She shows her best this way of going and will be ready to produce third up from a spell. Although stabbing in the dark as far as dangers go, i will be having a good crack at her whatever price she is.

TheAvenger 20th June 2005 04:04 AM

Thanks, I'll be sure to include this one in my punt today.

Regards,

Glenn

luv2bet 20th June 2005 11:16 AM

Ive got a couple of system runners today at horsham.
Horsham race 5 no 1. OUR PALACE.
should be nice e/w odds here. Its had a good record first up winning first up last campaign at 1300. Although 1400 off a spell is a bit of a worry, having been placed over 1400 at all 3 attempts I think is worth a shot. The obvioous danger here being the no 2. Easier race here may be hard to beat.

Horsham race 6 no 6. ZEPHYR BEAT.
Im pretty keen on this one. hopefully hes not to short but probably deserves to be. His last couple of runs have been sound just missing out both times. His run before that was a third behind queensland derby runner up lords a leaping. Going on that form he has to be in the finish.( I hope).

Good luck to all.

Sportz 20th June 2005 02:08 PM

luv2bet 20th June 2005 02:10 PM

Well our palace got back to far, ran on ok for 4th and zephyr beat won by a huge margin, raced like the good thing I thought he was. Very happy at getting $3 for him.

Stix 20th June 2005 02:22 PM

yep.... nice win by the "Z beat" and happy with the value as well.

luv2bet 21st June 2005 10:10 AM

One system runner and one blackbooker today.
system runner.
seymore 3 no 1. MISTANZ.
First up from a spell with solid first up form, 1100 should suit, handle conditions ok and should go well fresh.

BLACKBOOK
cessnock 9 no 3. molecular.
Last 2 runs have been very good. Liked the way it easily won its last start at this track and distance. Can step it up here i think

maverick1993 21st June 2005 07:48 PM

Hey guys got a few runners running tomorrow..
Tuscanny boy, San Vitale, PushPig, Not that Innocent, Penola, Shelly's trick, Mary Peirce, Quinn, Cafe Francis.

Real lazy today and havent done much study with these races..
so my usuall novel size explanations arent happening tonight,,,just havnt the time..
But confident with Tuscany Boy and Quinn .
Good luck all :)

maverick1993 22nd June 2005 02:30 PM

Not a great day yet today..
Had bets on Tuscanny Boy (2nd) and Quin (unp)..havent seen the video yet but will check it out later..
a few of my other bookers have placed ,,San vitale (2nd), Not that innocent (3rd), Penola (4th) Mary Peirce (2nd)
so they'll keep for another day...heard Mary peirces run was huge ..
Having a go at Push Pig soon..has some good form around Spuruson and Micasa ..hoping to get 8's..
fingers crossed :)
some good races around today..think Lion Queen is suited in the 7th at doomben and Lord Erin in the 7th at Melbourne..might just have a token bet on these for interest sake ..

maverick1993 22nd June 2005 02:44 PM

One of those today ..will leave Lion Queen alone just no value,,
Lord erin is ok at 6's..

Grand Merlot is racing in Northam tomorrow...great run last start 1st up over 1400m...will like the 1600m here ..but theres a tip about and wont be any flash odds....but a winner is a winner,,very very confident with this horse..

also Express Messenger up in Nth Qld is also racing...if he draws a barrier is right in this,,,very honest horse ...

Won't be on till late tomorrow...
getting the video warmed up for Saturday's races... some good races in Brissie... :)

luv2bet 22nd June 2005 11:10 PM

couple of bets thursday.
I like grand merlot as well mav, race should suit. my other bet for the day will be geelong race 7 no 6 REGAL RAPT. Hit the line strongly last start should thrive on the added journey, hopefully get 4-5s for him.
On todays racing I have to mention a horse Ive followed in belmont for a while, our grey halo. This horse is going great guns, he just runs home so hard and his consistency over his last 5 runs has been amazing. A bit shorter in price today but $3 was great value.
Hopefully we find a winner tomorrow!
