Cheers lads,
It's really no skin off my back posting the tips; i would be doing the DVD's anyway, and i enjoy the conversations here amongst other die hard race fans. Legend of Ace was very unlucky TS, just got out to late but really rattled home, the winner had skipped away by this stage however. Don't worry about us losing our money on your tips, it is up to us how we use them, they are ussually just a great platform to initiate form analysis of a race. Mav, great win by Potent Mix, the second horse ran a bottler aswell from last. Can't believe you weren't on Satinspin, he's been good to you, and that wasn't much of a race. |
Yeah i know Mr ed ..both Satinspin and Hillston Exchange and even plural were missed oportunities ..
was a bit lazy yesterday ..a bit hungover as well,, i think it would of been hard to take if i had lost for the day ...but 2 good winners and tris put me way over the top so its easy to bear... didnt even look at the fields in other races ..except the casino cup.. hope it doesnt come back to bite me .. :( especially when i get that dreaded run of outs everyone keeps telling me i'll have..... 1 losing month in 17 tells me its way over due.. If you have something you like TS and SPORTZ ..dont be worried to put it up..all of us on here implore all users of our selections to actually study the race and make up your own mind ,,,our tips should be used as a guide only especially mine..i sometimes go for 100/1 shots..so beware.. it must be said that as far as strikerates go mine isnt that great ..1 out of 5 yesterday..i just seem to jag that nice divie and trifecta that puts me ahead.. and the incomparable tips by Mr Ed and Luv2 and more recently Sportz that are showing a massive profit for me .. On Saturday if i take out Tycoon Rose and Rotator i'd have lost ,, I like posting my tips on here...to me its us versus the tote and bookie ..its a very lopsided contest so we need to band together...we'd be very niave to think our Tips are being followed so much to the point its having a bearing on price.. The more the Merrier .. :) |
I think one to follow might be a Zabeel by the name of Del Mar which had its first start on saturday at Newcastle. Wait till she gets over a bit more ground though.

Rocky
*Race 3. Kenya Keep a Secret,,made up alot of ground last start and looked strong on the line ...drops a bit of weight and has a better barrier..looks like they've been real patient with this horse but its had enough runs now to discount any probs it might of had.. ...real confident for a maiden.. *Race 8. Thats Paleface..was on him last start where tempo was against and the bias...gets to a suitable distance here that he's won at before..the toppy is the hot pot..but i think Pale face can get him.. confident again and should be nice e/w odds.. Also Inversratio and Stipend rate highly but the weights a worry and the likely price..Stipend looks to of had a very hard campaign might be a risk with Mydam twist and Kia Cibo dangers,, might be a better trifecta race....InverseRatio still probably to good for these but the price will be short. Kyneton *Abbisinga ...doesnt handle the soft but on a dry track can realy run..against this lot with Shinn aboard and her liking for this track looks good....she needs to lead and good track but from the barrier she should have that opportunity..if it is wet the toppy and fantabulous look good,,, Would want e/w odds.. Tamworth Never Sad comes up as a high rater..but Galactic queen looks to good where as Never Sad has been alittle substandard of late.... might be nice exacta ..as Never Sad should be 10's atleast, Like the 2 in Rocky...Abasinga on the dry, Fantabulous in the wet.. and might be tempted to take on Stipend with Kia Cibo but the price would have to be right... Good luck all :) |
My mates horse is running in Rocky again today in race 2 over 1000m and the blinkers go on today for the 1st time, The horses name is Joint Krew they are expecting it to run a real good race today.

Sportz, a handicapper always posts his/her tips as their opinion, on a take it or leave it basis. God knows there are so many things that can go wrong during the running of a a race to affect its outcome, most all of which cannot be handicapped by anyone. Not a science by any means, thoroughbred horseracing is every bit as much an art. No one is always right in this sport, nor should anyone expect you to be. You'll have good days and bad days; so be it. Such is the nature of our sport, and the sooner one realizes this the better. This is not an easy game to win, but the intellectual stimulation of it has had me addicted for many years. Post your picks; let the player decide for themself whether its a play. You bear no responsibility whatsoever in the punting practices of another. I have found your selections very useful to my overall play, and I appreciate your hard work. I salute all of the others who post their thoughts here in this fine forum also.
Regards, Glenn |
Looks like the 2 for me today at Rocky...
kenya and paleface ....both should be nice odds.. i really like Cindy Kate and if they risk her and i can get some sort of price i'll be on again...she's been good to me.. Kia Cibo ..i heard had gear probs last start ..might run a better race today ..Stipend and Mydam twist will be there to...will probably just have a play with tri's as i cant seperate them,,, Never Sad is a worry ..her last 2 runs have been substandard but she's got the ability to beat these . oh well will watch her today with just a slab on her and wait till she shows something..maybe her maternal clock is clicking.. Good Luck all... and check out the 100 yo running around Kyneton in the 3rd ..would be nice story if the old fella got up.. |
..... Joint Crew....
Raw
No good my friend.... sounded disappointing.... Yours In Punting Stix |
HI Maverick, kenya keep A secret? No I cant. Thanks Mav... got 9.00 on sportingbet.
Fantastic Cindy Kate? didnt see the race but didnt sound good at all...hope she is OK I'm not worthy... Cheers Steve |
Well done with Kenya Keepa Secret, Mav. I thought it was a match between 5 & 8 and I was surprised at the generous odds on Kenya. :)
|
Your better than maverick off top gun. Thanks again!!!!!
|
Good work Mav...see what you mean about going wide in Tris...missed but happy with each way...great stuff!
|
Woohoo ..thanks guys.. :)
now we just have to get Thats PaleFace across the line,.hopefuly even better odds.. Cindy Kate was a million wide the whole way and first time on the dead.. glad i dont take those sort of odds,,..i miss a few ..Prettify yesterday ..branch and Pipkin the other day..but all in all i think if theres a smidgen of doubt theres just no point.. Today the track was enough to leave Cindy alone .. I do back the odd short one though...daka's Gem in belmont has been real good to me.. |
Heres a couple i have picked out:
Kyneton Race 7 3 - Cheval De Force - Last start second, 4th run back from spell - fit, good in the distance range and doesn't mind the wet. Race 8 10 - Jack by jill - Only win has been over 1800, handles the soft ground. Tamworth Race 6 3 - Bingara - Last 2 starts on slow and dead rated tracks, back on top of the ground should suit. 5th run back from a spell - should be rock hard fit. P.s. Lets go the PALEFACE Cheers |
A few potential topliners running tomorrow. I've got some runners picked out which I'll post later.
|
Sorry guys they were real confident today and she put in a shocker she was travelling beatifully until the 400 then she didn't want to do anything just raced real green from that point stoped riding her at about the 100.
|
Quote:
was wet ,,fantabulous was scratched..and the toppy won at 10's ..and i didnt even have a bet on it. .. silly silly boy |
Dont worry about it Raw.. i tipped Cindy Kate ..and would of plonked on her if i got a price and she ran last..
Got a nice exacta with the Stipend, Mydam twist race ..if Kia Bo gets 3rd it would of been real nice.. cant win them all .. woooohooooo nice third by the Paleface :) got the tri a few times and the 1st4 a few times ..a good race , a good day .. and tomorrow looks even better ... i love this time of year :) |
Congrats...
Mav
Good work again today.... well done Stix |
wow check out the 1st4 :) omg
|
A great day's racing tomorrow for a Wednesday!!!
Probably be back on tomorrow after I've studied them some more, but I'll just post a few now for you to think about. Some of these horses are resuming and I'm not sure at the moment what price they'll be. Be careful. Warwick Farm R1 4 MANTON Tremendous run at only career start with a fast finishing 4th behind Fashions Afield. Very impressive on the track recently. John Hawkes 3yo which looks to have a good future. Outside barrier here, but Beadman has been booked to ride. Unfortunately, it may not be great value as plenty of people will have been waiting for it. A few other nice horses in this one including the promising Commanding Victory and a first starter worth considering Parfumier. Possible numbers 4,1,7 - 2,12,10 Warwick Farm R2 3 FLIGHTY A terrific first start flashing home late to grab 3rd. I've been waiting for it to race again, and I'm a bit worried that it's taken 4 weeks. In any case, I'm also very keen on the prospects of 2 SUN SONG whose last start form in strong Saturday class is certainly good enough for this. Haven't decided which one is my top pick yet. Possible numbers 3,2,4 - 1,6 Warwick Farm R6 5 SNOWDEN Another promising John Hawkes 3yo resuming after an impressive trial. Again, the problem could be the price. Hopefully, it's not too short. Possible dangers are Aldeburgh and Gunfire Messiah, but I definitely have to study this one some more. Possible numbers 5,6,2 - 3,8,13 Moonee Valley R3 1 JENNINGS Yet another promising 3yo I've been waiting for. Top run at only start back in June and looks to have a great spring ahead. Word of warning though. He's been slow out of the barriers at both his race start and also in a recent trial. I'm also very keen on the prospects of 4 LONG WALK in this race and it may end up being much better value. Was beaten by a smart one last start in a strong Saturday race and will take beating here. Again, I haven't worked out which one should be top pick yet. Possible numbers 1,4,6 - 7,3,5 |
Like Flighty alot Sportz...fantastic run last start..should be still fast and fresh for this race ...
When a hawkes runner trials well it realy makes you take notice ..he usually just gives them a run in those things..Snowden is well worth a look.. heaps of interest tomorrow.. |
I only got a couple of winners in Rocky today Mr. Amore in the first was shorter than I wanted but a win is a win, had a big go at Fortified and think it would have won if it had of gone straight, thought at one stage I was in danger on the other side of the fence. I finished winning on Tycoon Ted got $2.50 on him so that wasn't to bad thought he was a certainty and Bay Owl in the last was confident there. No real good odds but a win is a win.
|
Great work Mav, your a champ. Don't know why the jockey got so far back around the 400m mark he was in a great position but shuffled right back and actually had to check across heels of the eventual winner, he let down nicely when out and he would have been very close if he could've held his position.

One that should be at double figure odds tommorow who ran terrificly last start is Napa Sky.
He hits a very hot race tommorow, with handy gallopers Hillfa (G2 2nd), Reannag (awesome 6 length f/u win last time in) and ravishing choice all in the hunt, along with query first starters, Abbey a Redoutes trained by Roggie ridden by Danny (how often do they lose?), and Royal Whizz who must have shown Tommy Hughes enough to bring here first up. Napa Sky however is the horse with fitness on her side and that can count for a whole lot, her last run when about 4 lengths 2nd to the very smart Amerryking was enormous, she led and they set a furious speed with Super Mario attacking it the whole way, the winner pounced easily on her and she was entitled to weaken (Super Mario ran tailed off), but she held on like a good horse for 2nd, Record ran 4th in the race and put in a terrific performance for 2nd last start coming from last at Flemington. Tommorow there really doesn't look alot of speed on from the raced brigade, and she should lead quite easily, with the big pull in the weights from these classier gallopers after Stra's claim and her race fitness, around the tight Mooney Valley circuit she'll take a power of running down. Hopefully Napa can run a mighty race for us, and with all the attractive horses in the field i think she'll be real value on the tote. Cheers ED |
Yeah, I thought that one was a good value chance too, Ed.
|
I have one in the book, Race 1 - 15 Questionable. First starter, i must have liked the trial. Havn't really looked at the opposition to hard but it is a maiden so anything can really happen, its not as if there is any winning form to go off so to speak. It has drawn out in the carpark 15 of 15, which is a big concern. Its at like 60 or so dollars at the moment though. So just have a look see how it goes, have a few dollars on if you are game, whatever. Cheers for all the tips guys, now i have to decide what to bet on - thats the hard part.
|
Hey TS, you didn't tell us where that was running. It's Adelaide R1-15. :)

Hmmm, I have 9, 10 & 15 picked out in R3 in Brisbane. Should have had those numbers in R3 in Adelaide instead!!!
|
Just the winner, quinnie and tri in the first Sportz, saving yourslef for the rest of the day are we?
Great work mate, One i remember from a fair while ago in Sydney, was Sydney Owner- it's last run was out three and four wide in the breeze the whole way but really quickened nicely when asked, also seen it's trial, which looked really nice. Do you know much about the field Sportz, they would want to be pretty smart to beat him from (1) i would think. |
Sportz
many slabs involved... Stix |
I really shouldn't have posted any tips for R3 in Brisbane and Adelaide. Both tough maidens and very hard to pick. In the end, I decided to leave the Brisbane race alone altogether. Should stick to just the best betting races. Sorry. :o
|
Told you Jennings was a good one! ;)
Amazed at that price. I thought he would be about $2!!! |
Ed,
Quite impressed by Sydney Owner. Not sure whether it'll be primed to win this, but I'm putting it on top purely on potential. It's definitely one for the future. Scission and Albacian are the fit ones. |
was Jennings run a good one sportz?? Ive got him in my fantasy racing stable so should i expect something good from it?
|
well done Sportz...missed Jennings ..dam .. sircolo was a nice start though ..
great day off racing today.. |
Horse Whisperer,
Absolutely!!! I'll probably be whacking $150,000 onto it's value for next month, so you've got it cheap. |
EXCELLENT..... :)
|
Nice work Mr Ed and Sportz...unfortunately missed the mornings picks but great to pick up something this afternoon...lost a bit though at EFarm on Palatine and Lilla but thats the way it goes lol!!
