Taking a bit of Mav's. advice with the betting because none of them are shorties, but none of them are big longshots either:

Monday:

GOSFORD [d5]
6/ 7 Pachira [e/w]
7/4 War Council [e/w]
STONY CREEK [d4]
6/9 Great Pleasure [e/w]

Bets are 1x3

crash 29th December 2008 05:22 PM

A 4th there for War Concil was a bit unlucky, but a 1st for Pachira [4.40w x 1.80p x3] was a good result.

$9.80 return for $12 outlay wasn't so good for a 1x3 outlay for all bets. My win for $8 or below and place for $8 and above would have been better. Would have been 3 win bets only and made a profit.

maverick1993 29th December 2008 05:42 PM

still going well Crash ,,,but your right i'd never back a horse e/w if it was paying under $8-10 the win ..id be keeping to your way of betting but have atleast 1 unit on the win for the horses above $8 ...

I couldnt find a bet today ,,,i take my hat off to all those that can rate races and find value almost every day ..

crash 29th December 2008 07:24 PM

Sounds like a ditto to that mate.

Fancy that myself

maverick1993 30th December 2008 04:21 PM

No luck Today Tevez ,,,good run by Decerto ,,worth following ,,,Currumbin Rock ran the carpark route and was still not far away and Rubiton Raider just anchored alittle by the weight for a good 2nd..
A little frustrating ..

good to see JP Stanley winning today on Paddycolo,,,talented rider,,

Good luck Crash ,

I'm liking today
Ipswich
Br8, 2 Sir Teles

Some good races around tomorrow ,, looking for value i dont mind Spinney at the 10's , Bowhunter at the 9's and managed to get Tenants Tiara at 3.20 ,,,
Albert the Fat looks good tomorrow but at those odds i'll be waiting,,,Mitanni looked good the other day and loves the track,,,Forestreno going well..,,a race Alby should be winning but it wont be easy..

Good Luck all :)

maverick1993 31st December 2008 05:02 PM

Wooohooo had a stack on this thing,,,,,Might even buy that Restaraunt Xanadu always goes to ...hes there every night so i wouldnt need many more customers :)
Happy New Year boys and Girls ,,and hopefully back with a few for tomorrrow before i get to tipsy..

crash 1st January 2009 07:33 AM

Well done Mav. I only had 2 winners, so not a good end to the year.

maverick1993 1st January 2009 11:58 AM

A few for today,,

Not a fan of Gold Coast racing but i think with the cut out of the track alittle Albert The fat will be to good (2.60 isn't any value),,,Mitanni races well here and the danger,,,also thought Black Piranha a knock out chance ,,he'll need some luck but there will be a nice tempo for him and he'll come wide and run on...The Track isnt the best for his style but its not hopeless..put in Rightson and Friendly Embrace and we'll have the exotics covered..,,I'll be on Albert if i can get on,,if hes to short , play with the Exotics and an e/w on the Piranha..

Ascot
The Fuzz*
Melbourne
Bowhunter / Orbit Express , Count To Zero
Adelaide
Tristriam Hill
Sydney
Spinney , Tennents Tiara*

New Zealand (Auckland Cup)
MaythehorsebeMagic / Pentour
New Zealand (Railway)
Accardo (i'd be on Atapi here if they rode him properly,,hes only got a short sharp sprint and it needs to be timed ,,JB knows him best)

maverick1993 1st January 2009 09:27 PM

Hard day at the office...

great result in the Goldmarket with Black piranha getting up but that was the only joy on day that threw up some huge reults..
Bowhunter / Count to Zero / The Fuzz all 2nds ..(frustrating)
Spinney = Cat
Tenants Tiara beats herself..

Looking at New Zealand races lately,,especially feature races,,but still need to do some work,,,Pentour and Accardo both gave me some hope down the straight but weakened out of it..

Alyways tomorrow :)

When it comes to my ratings, after some poor results, I've officially given up on NZ. Well, at least that was my new years resolution anyway. How long will it last? ;)

Anyway, it worked yesterday. I was sure glad I left out the Railway Stakes!!!

By the way, to add insult to injury regarding my previous losses in NZ, Culminate and Six O'Clock News who had flopped when I rated them on top last start, both came out and won yesterday at nice odds. :(

maverick1993 2nd January 2009 01:02 PM

I'm still working on it,,,,started because i was following a horse called Tradewind over there ,,so i had to look at all the fields to see when it was racing i sort of got used to looking at the fields....Still getting used to the tracks over there ect but the races are very competitive sometimes 5-6 across the track ,,,this means theres value to be had if you get it right,,

See Atapi again started his run to soon,,,weird horse that can only find the lead 30 metres out from the line or else he stops..

Nothing around today to back,,,but i must admit i'd like to see Precise timing win the Cup ,,hes a grand old campaignor and still racing well....I'll be having a few bucks on for luck..

Makybe Diva 3rd January 2009 08:49 AM

Hi all,

Tricky day today with plenty of rain around in Brissie. Although I have come up with a fair few which is probably a bit of a worry:P

BR 2 No. 5 Skyleda
BR 5 No. 7 Sarcastically
BR 9 No. 14 Queen of Asia
SR 8 No. 7 Gold Trail
QR 7 1, 2 and 5 in a quinella
QR 6 Was gonna tip Hy Dream and Viking Storm here but the rain worries me. Include Swinging to Win and Simplex in exotics
QR 5 No. 13 La Zeel
QR 3 No. 9 Yamarjie
QR 1 No. 11 Periander
MR 8 No. 14 Keeping Score

Good Luck!

R7, No1 Keen Commander

R8, No11 Abbacina

Melbourne
R3, No3 Whiskey Cruyff
R4, No2 Snappy Tom
R6, No5 Hezabruiser

crash 3rd January 2009 05:28 PM

Nasty day on the whole really [Rooster one day, feather duster the next]. Maybe others had a bit of profitable luck [?]

CAULFIELD
6/12 [4.60p] bet for the place only
RANDWICK
3/7 [1.80p] bet for the win only
4/8 [2.00p] bet for the win only
7/8 - [3.40w 1.60p] bet for the win only

Great day for bolter's. It's always a bit screwy this time of year I reckon. Who could believe LANGFIBIAN 32.00w [last start, 2nd last in the slow] could win the "Bat Out of aaaa' 900m on the Gold Coast on a heavy track, or ROLLING STOCK 41.40w r6 at Caulfield who's last win was a $9,000 race? Stuffed everyone who tried for the Quaddie at both these venues.

I had a few each way on Langfibian:)Thought Keen Commander was too short so I had bit each way on Bitabiff and Langfibian. Unfortunately didnt get the quinella though. Poor day otherwise excdept for Gold Trail. Nothing really made ground at Eagle Farm.

Makybe Diva 4th January 2009 11:47 AM

Only the one winner on a tough day,,,but it paid nicely so no damage done...left Whiskey Cruyf and Keen Commander alone at the price,,should have had something on langfibian whos been good to me in the past....Snappy tom and Jedburgh close but no cigar ..

Today i don't mind General Patton at the Sunny Coast ,,,he likes the track n distance and the sting out helps him...weighted nicely for a horsre thats won better races than this and over 300 gs in prizemoney....Spy Zaim the big danger ,,,nice quiny ..

Good Luck :)

Musselbrook race 7 no 1 Acacia Alba looks a nice bet ,,,the arenas thrive over distance and this her 3rd run in , out to 1550 mtres now , good trainer so should be there in the finish ,,might get e/ws about her

Great day for bolters. I had a win collect and a place collect. Not good. Is it ever this time of year?

Makybe Diva 10th January 2009 08:58 AM

Like a few of Mitchell Speers rides at Ippy today. Very tough at the Gold Coast. Keen on Itstheone in Melbourne (R7 No.1). At Toowoomba, Race 4 Nos 1. and 3. Jackson Hill and Pietro Vannucci. SR 6 Nos 1 and 8.

A few i'm liking for today ,

Sydney
Rain Game , Thunderbirdsarego* , Rubinda

Gold Coast
Secrets Untold , Bareena* , Express Air , Mr Unforgettable

and in the Cup
I think Albert the Fat with the better run will be hard to beat ,,thought the best roughie was Walking or Dancing ,,,
Mr Slick , Light Red , Black Pirahna , Voice Commander , and Masai Pride for the exotics.

Good Luck all :)

Yep I'm a fan of Mr Unforgettable and Walking and Dancing as well. Just not sure if there will be enough pace for WAD. Think Mr Slick should get the run of the race.

Not an easy day. A lot of Chaff bandits running around and a few queries from top runners. Albert the Fat has become a bit ordinary the last 2 starts and might need a paddock [he'll win for sure now!]. Looking at the pace today and trying for a bit of odds from mostly back-markers that might surprise in genuine pace races. I'm going 1x3 e/w.

Gold Coast starting at race 2. Bell Acadamy from the outside barrier has a chance at odds.
R5 iluminattes and Jummana
R6 Express Air and Rock Kingdom
R8 No pace in this and Voice Commander is the only leader and Oliver might be able to slow the pace to his advantage.
R9 Utterly Fantastic and Realse me are the only backmarkers in this speedy race.
R10 Educated is the only leader with Cassidy on board.

Caulfield:
R3 Flagstaff only leader with on-pacer Great Wall of China a chance.
R4 Hidden Energy is the only back-marker.
R6 Danzlum only leader and might control the race.
R7 Plenty of pace here and Zabrin is the only back-marker at great odds too.
R8 Upper Echelon and Rada are the 2 back-markers in this fast pacer race.

crash 10th January 2009 05:43 PM

No great day but I''m glad I settled on a 1x3 e/w plan.

Rock Kingdom [!.90p]
Voice Commander [2.60p]
Rock Kingdom [!.90p]
Flagstaff[1.40p]
Great Wall of China [2.0p]
Hidden Energy [2.10p]

No winners, so a bit of a whacka day.

Before those claiming they won on the biggy [75/1], I never tipped the race and never bet on it either. Why bother? I had a feeling the favorite would get done [as they do in these races].

Good day today, 2 winners and 2 placings from 5. Had a decent place all up on the sydney runners which was nice. hotel casino shoould of won by more with a clear run... couldnt believe they were offering those prices (:

hope yas all had a goodin.

Makybe Diva 10th January 2009 07:35 PM

Only a reasonable day today and it would have been alot nicer if Beautiful Timing had won the last. Pietro flying at the moment. Anatomica ran well. Walking or Dancing looked like it would win at the 200 but just died a little on its run.

Likes Ladros in race six tomorrow at the Sunshine Coast and Lilleelavee in race four.
