nice work Crash on a tough day..
I had a shocker,,brissie threw up some weird results,,,tabinga lass ?? thing runs around every day at every track then wins in town at 50's ....knew there were some open races but missed the blow outs..

Backed Locus Standi and Lucky Luna heavily and lost :(

hoping to win something back today...
liking the way Bellagio Wyne is going ,,for the Canberra Cup ...
messian and Larry's Song at the Sunny Coast..

Good Luck :)

It was a tough one yesterday Mav. and I was just lucky. I mostly stayed away from Brissy due to the big fields. Still, I would have felt better if I'd correctly worked out that my profit was 8.6 units, not 6.6 [as posted] for the day!

Going well Crash :) I'm all refreshed after a holiday in Fiji (most relaxing place on earth) ...got a stack of races to watch but i'll be having a go tomorrow,,,Albert the Fat is becoming my fav horse ever ,,backed him every start so far but alittle worried about tomorrow ,
got some more work to do but the speed map doesnt help him..

crash 20th December 2008 07:34 AM

Thanks Mav. Brissy looks good today and the Doomben Stks. should be a bottler!

Albert the Fat is certainly a horse on the up and it's D day for him. Does well too from outside barriers as a mid-pacer. The speed will be on with Rasmussen, Tour Guide and Sneaky Long in the race. Albert gets a nice 4.5kg weight drop for this big class rise but he certainly has enough speed. Barlinnie looks a big danger to me [attractive odds too] with 3w from 3 second up and was caught on the wrong foot in it's first Brissy race last start and the extra distance here suits. For exotics I'll throw in Tour Guide and Charming Rogue who was blocked last start and had no chance from b1.

Makybe Diva 20th December 2008 09:09 AM

Thin and Crispy and Rightson e/w for me in the Doomben Stakes

maverick1993 20th December 2008 11:12 AM

Going to stick with Albert the Fat ,,,watched the video of his last run last night and WOW ,,,looks to have even more upside aswell ,,,a big future this one (next years Straddie ?) ...theres alot of good tough horses in this aswell..
I agree Crash with BArlinnie ,,also thought Forestreno and Daunting LAd both very consistent amd Sequestrate capable off a hot tempo,,

Brisbane
Our Lukas , On the Up , Sequallan , Albert the FAt
Sydney
I've got talent , Snipers Bullet / theoporus , Tenants Tiara
Melbourne
Sunday Adieau , itstheone
Perth
Garavanni

Good Luck all :)

Happy about these results and I was especially happy about Barlinnie of course. I thought he would be on the right foot today and too good for the rest of them. I think Albert the Fat, although a good horse, in jumping from $27K races to a $200k race was just a bit beyond him and too much hype surrounded the animal too. In the end, at his pathetic and undeserving odds as favorite, I didn't back him. Win or lose he was a way unders bad bet and was out-classed by plenty of runners. He certainly looked good for a moment or two and is on the up. He just went too far up too soon.

maverick1993 20th December 2008 05:08 PM

Happy with my day aswell..Sunday Adieu and Itstheone were nice results,,grabbed a slice of the tri in the Stakes aswell..
though Albert the Fats run was massive,,,dont think anythng else in the race with that run would have finished only a length off at the end ,,was around 2 points under his real odds jumping from that barrier ..but still a horse capable of winning big races..
Snipers Bullet i thought was alittle unlucky,,missed the inside run when he looked like being in the finish in the Villies,,(how good did the Qld horses do)
Tenents Tiara another unlucky horse,,,,had Rubinda on top in my tri but King Rex the old marvel surprised me running 3rd....

A good day and i'm sure Albert lost no admirers today :)

crash 20th December 2008 05:13 PM

Zoe finally got a win on Itstheone [$11 something] too, so her day wasn't a complete disaster! How in the aaaa did you [and Zoe] pick that one? I just couldn't see it. Albert certainly impressed me too but the odds were pathetic all things considered as to the massive class rise.

maverick1993 21st December 2008 11:29 AM

Don't Mind Showify today at the Sunshine Coast,,the horse hasnt had alot of luck of late ,,and the outside barrier for a horse like him that needs room isnt all that bad,,,especially on that track,,(one of the best in OZ imo) Colless isnt usually a visiter there so it might pay to keep an eye on his 2 rides..
In race 6 Vettories Image is a good roughie ,,might be 50/1 but he gets the good track today and from barrier one can roll along up front..

Good Luck all :)

maverick1993 22nd December 2008 10:16 AM

Just watched the replays of yesterdays races,,,how awful was Showify ,,just didnt do anything ,,Colless won't be in a hurry to come back to the Sunny Coast ,,,on a more brighter note little Luke Dittman is riding very well, seems to ride with a good sense of timing , didnt panic on Mr Slick on Saturday and rode a couple of good winners yesterday,,,the old man must be very proud.

Thanks Sportz for the info about Icedane..kinda lucky i never saw your message or else i would have missed the nice place divie :) ,,,shame how the the formguides didnt mention it...i'd like to see tab markets have a link for the race where they list Jockey changes , extra gear changes , form updates , change of normal riding patterns , any probs or queries the stewards have had with the horse that morn ect ect ......would be nice :)

crash 29th December 2008 08:04 AM

Yes, nice going Makybe!

Mav., your right of course about missing the big payout by betting just for the place or win, but I'm in an experimental mode just for the aaaa of it. I've been lucky that a few big odds have only placed lately. I've tried win only regardless of odds that saw some nice collects but was missing too many place collects, so I settled on win only under $8 and place only for $8 or over. I'll probably change that to 1x4 after the first big one that gets up for the win!

Good to see the tipsters here making a profit.
