he was on his last chance Sportz .... but he kept on working to the line in all his races ...kept doing enough to keep me interested ..
now if Desert ransom and Wencelas Square would only do the same :)

maverick1993 4th August 2005 09:51 PM

Hey Sportz ..Rameka is running Tomorrow up your way in the first...might chuck a slab on it for old times sake :)
he's the most honest horse you'll ever see....small field might suit ..

luv2bet 5th August 2005 07:26 AM

Mackay 1 no 7 dini who.no time for explanations today.

Goulburn 7 no 4. Regional express.

Tenacious Spirit 5th August 2005 08:22 AM

I have a couple in the book at mackay, but they have both drawn off the track. Would have been a bit more confident if either had drawn a gate.

Race 3 - The toppy Just Waytin

Race 6 - #4 From the Top

Cheers, good luck on getting back in the black mav.

By the way, what does a slab represent in monetary terms?

I can tell you that it's nice and fine up here today, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a track upgrade.

maverick1993 5th August 2005 01:49 PM

Hi Guys...a slab is $20 ..back in the good old days thats what they used to be ..i'm down about 40 of them this week ..
Last chance stakes ..going with Luv2 and having a go at Regional Express at Goulbourn ..who i dont mind at all...hopefully it wins but lately i'm just getting placings..Admiral Jack ran a distant third in that donkey race alittle earlier..
had him e/w though but still alittle loss..
Come one Regional Express :) hope it wins or else finishes a distant last..cant handle anymore 2nds ..

kiwi 5th August 2005 02:03 PM

Gee i left race 3 Michaels was riding with a soft windx of 242, wins on Beatties Victory and pays $17.At least he won the next race as well on Fortified.he is a jockey to follow on soft tracks.By joves my theory is spot on he has just won on Comboya as well.:****

Jockeys for track conditions guys, Byrne is another good one to follow.

maverick1993 5th August 2005 02:42 PM

wow..you just wouldnt beleive it would you ...how freaky is that ...
i give up .lol ,, place betting only here i come ..

nah jus joking ..bring on tomorrow :)

Tenacious Spirit 5th August 2005 02:43 PM

Ahh bad luck mav. You'll bounce back tommorw i am sure.

Speaking of tommorow i have just been looking at the form over the past couple of hours, some good flesh going around. If someone wants to vollunteer to sort out race 7 at eagle farm for me though, coz i wouldnt have a ************ clue - got me completely stuffed.

- One more donkey left today and thats Western Downs in the next at Mackay, i'm risking Orrong. Lets hope it can get the bikkies.

Matt

kiwi 5th August 2005 02:51 PM

thats three in a row guys D.Evans is a champ on soft and heavy tracks :)

maverick1993 5th August 2005 02:51 PM

Hi Mat ..still doing the form for race 7..but the top chances IMO are Words of magic, Nessuno and Sir Dan ..
leaning towards Words of Magic maybe ..fantastic last run ..was wide the whole way ..watching the video of the Ramornie later before i make my mind up..some nice races around tomorow .

maverick1993 5th August 2005 02:53 PM

Well done Kiwi ..cleaning them up at Mackay .. good stuff :)

Stix 5th August 2005 03:00 PM

Nice work Tenacious with From The Top.... Thanks!

Tenacious Spirit 5th August 2005 03:02 PM

Rightio, i was thinking along the same linees but was finding myself conceding good chances to a few others. One thing that caught my eye was in the winning post that said sir dans last run was dissapointing, but i think thats untrue. I thought he was pretty unlucky in the straight, became unbalanced, he probably wouldn;t have won but would have finished much closer. That was his 3rd run back from a spell making this his 4th which should see him rock hard fit. I hope they come for mastermind which i think is overated and not win...i hope.

Cheers

Tenacious Spirit 5th August 2005 03:05 PM

No woz stix, it was unders in the end for mine. I thought it might sneak under the radar, but hey can't complain. I am not willing to write of Just Waytin either, that was only second start and had to do a bit of work early. I think with race experience that they might be able to get him to just settle off the pace and there should be a couple of races in him. Not saying hes a world beater though.

maverick1993 5th August 2005 03:12 PM

1350m was to far for Sir Dan last start ....he'll get the nice run.. sometimes starts badly but last start he jumped pretty well ..he'll get the speed he needs in this race...will be nice e/w odds as well..

Mr ed 5th August 2005 04:49 PM

Think i've got two absolute stinking morals tommorow, will post later.

luv2bet 5th August 2005 04:58 PM

Hey Mav, you were right about the races in Adelaide this time of year...... probably only 3 betting races tomorrow, the rest a joke.

maverick1993 5th August 2005 09:46 PM

Hi Luv2 ..dont mind a few in adelaide actually...Perigule,Ouraja, Keytocache ,Pride of archway..all look ok if the price is right,,
Like Civil as well ..but that Pushing daisies is scary ..and Maui Boy ..might get a price about Civil then i'll be on..

Will post the "Merlot Now fan CLub Tips" ..we are now going for our 8th week of profit...

Admiral Spy
Intermoo
Super Elegant (Bomber on a dead or better track)
Nessuno
Besame Mucho

Good luck guys ..

Mr ed 6th August 2005 01:22 AM

Stinking moral was a joke, but i'm pretty confident these horses will run well,

Adelaide Rc 1 - Dzerzhinsky, this exvictorian is a quality galloper who has put together 4 very good efforts in his 4 start career, his first start he was trapped 3 wide searching for the lead the whole way over 1400 for a very close up 3rd behind the smart Kelmania, gee it was a good debut. Jumped at a short quote at his second start when dropping back to 1100, and ran a gallant although little dissapointing 2nd. Since heading up to Adelaide, he's really going well, his first start was a very strong maiden win at Cheltenham, when did plenty of work but was far superior to rivals. His starting price that day was $1.70, though it paid $3.30 on supertab, this was due to a treble before hand that day of Ex Smerdon gallopers entering Jolly's stable, and Dzerz made it a quartet. His last run was probably his best, in a very good field he finished 2.4 lengths behind Aerated who has since won stylishly again. He overraced badly however this day and looked gone 300 out, but really knuckled down nicely and finished the race off well, in the fashion of an above average galloper. He has a year and/or a ********** over most of his rivals here and looks well in after Leckey's all important 2kg claim. @ first starters who have trialled well are Perigule and Tirdlettar, i don't like trial form all that much but to be safe will be having Dzerzhinsky to run second to these 2 gallopers in exactas, the bunch to have raced don't appear good enough.

In race 6 i can't go past Civil, mav has mentioned my only 2 worries in the consistent Maui Boy and Pushing Daisies who was a little unlucky last start and should be suited by extra distance. I will be taking Civil to run second to them 2 as savers as well. I don't think i'll need them however, Civil, looks classes above this field, he has always promised so much and i really think tommorow he'll deliver. Just a little trip down memory lane, about this time last year Civil ran a very unlucky neck 2nd at Mooney Valley to the average sprinter Dandy Kid, that form kills this race and i think he's going better now.

Dzerzhinsky wants it good, Civil wants it slow, but both can adapt well, dead would be perfect.

Anyway i'll be having a red hot crack at these two, so may well need all of your sound advice, if and when they happen to lose.

Mr ed 6th August 2005 04:17 PM

What a difference a good ride can make, the first race Leckey rode Dzerz wonderfully settling back in the small field, and he won well. Civil on the other he had up sitting three wide in the breeze the whole way, went for home far too early and got pipped near the line. The result cost me many a many slabs, still a fantastic result getting $4.80 for Dzerz, but i have an empty feeling of what should have been. I had Civil at Top flux, he was backed from $3.80 into $2.40 and clearly should have won. Next start he'll be odds on, so we've essentially missed the boat. $500 on the all up and $500 on Dzerz, was going to have another $500 if Dzerz lost but it didn't so i had Civil going to win a little more then $9,000. That's a lot of coin for a barman/uni student.

boxhead 6th August 2005 06:33 PM

G'day Ed,
One out of two isn't bad by any means-thank you.
Will give Pushing Daisies two more before wondering.
cheers

maverick1993 6th August 2005 09:23 PM

Well done Mr ed with Dzir ..i agree completely about Civil ,,saved his worst ride for that one....i had a blowout down there ..shocker :(

Have a few running tomorrow,..i'll list them in case i dont have time to get on..
Maewest , mahwangsa, Polish Prince in Kalgoolie
Mr Kiseki, Regal Secret in Sunny Coast
Never Sad in Musselbrook..

havent studied the races yet ..but have a look at them .. if i have time i'll get back to you with alitle more detail..
last Sunday i just had Win bets an tris with the field on all of them..was real lazy and lost ...will be alittle more careful this time.

maverick1993 6th August 2005 09:52 PM

forgot to mention the "Merlot Now fan club Tips" result ..
well the result was bad ..very bad..the boys are very dissapointed..
told them you cant win every week ,,,we've won so much and been so lucky that they should'nt worry about one losing day..theres always next week,,
...with Nessuno's race this was my pick but i wanted to back both Words and Nessuno but they outvoted me on it ..and i had to chose between them..
they all knew i was on Words aswell and when he won at those odds i could tell they were alittle chuffed....not my fault ,,
we'll bounce back ,,,
the local cricket club are getting shirts this year from us ..they'll have "Merlot Now Fan Club" on their sleeves...
just like the under 14's footy club had this year on their footy club jackets..always gives you the warm an fuzzies when you do something nice like that,,

Merlot Now has a bit to live up to this Spring...poor thing :)

Mr ed 7th August 2005 01:04 AM

Rc6 Oakpark Shannon drops back from 1200 to 1000 meters tommorow but with plenty of speed in the race she should take a sit and prove very hard to hold out down the Ballarat hill. Her last three runs have been full of merit, and in fairness against better horses then she faces tommorow. She was ridden upside down last start when attempting to lead all the way, she was gassed by pressure but stuck on really well for a close up third. Drawn (6) tommorow with D Moor on she should take a sit as she has a powerful sprint, i think she'll put up a great show at around the e/w mark.

luv2bet 7th August 2005 08:54 AM

well done Mav and Ed, another winning day by the looks of it. First saturday in probablt 10 years I havent had a bet. Mate rang me with ************ all notice had spare ticket Lunch, corperate box at the crows. Worst game of footy Ive ever seen, wouldve had a decent go on media....oh well..
So close with that all up Ed, you wouldve been pretty confidentcoming into civils race, unlucky mate, todays a new day.

kiwi 7th August 2005 10:31 AM

luv2bet 7th August 2005 10:47 AM

Have a couple of interest running today.
Muswellbrook.
Race 4 no 1 Eagle hill. Had a very easy win two starts back, then wasnt disgraced in the city last start a close up 4th behind force zulu. Will definately find it easier here against a much weaker opposition. Last start it beat seaforth home and that won yesterday as Mav would know!! Although it hasnt been spelled it has had a freshen up and its first up form is terrific. Its last start was almost 2 months ago. If 3s are about im on.

Sunshine coast.
Race 7 no 2 CLANGER. Made up a lot of ground last start in dying stages behind cut a caper. Prince of ashes looks to be the danger to me after a nice run behind lord nedym. Barrier shouldnt be a problem as he should take a sit somewhere in the running anyway. He drops a couple of kilos from his last run as well as another couple from the claim of hull and id expect him to be flying home.
Good luck to all on the punt today!

luv2bet 7th August 2005 10:56 AM

I forgot one of interest.
BALLARAT 7 GORGEOUS DANCER. I am interested to see how the form in adelaide stacks up against this lot. Its last couple of runs have been super and can go on with it here. This horse cost me a many slabs as THEY say when he beat yarterbery home two starts back. Only beaten by a great run from Fall of rome last start. With dunn on board and the 2kg claim I think it can match this lot. Time will tell.

maverick1993 7th August 2005 11:38 AM

Musselbrook
Never Sad ..this is a good old mare..she's got the bad barrier but she drops out the back anyway..her last run was ok ,,she looked good the last 50m..She has the ability to sprint over the top of these if the speed is good..they'll be speed in this race.Strawbery Spy and few others should keep the tempo genuine....she has the right weight here....and should be huge odds..

Kalgoolie.
Mahawangsa...horse is in such good form..went up in class last start and was very unlucky..should of won ...gets to race against the same lot and i think has them covered,,,very confident here....the only down i see is the drop back to 1300m because last start he was so strong the last little bit at 1400m
..but the others have form around the 1200m so Mahawangsa will come over the top of them with a good tempo here..Dance to heaven the only worry.

Polish Prince....good thing about Kalgoolie and places like that is they most of the times run around against the same opposition..and on his last run Polish Prince with any sort of luck wins by a mile....
Knight School performed in town last start is the worry...but Polish prince will take improvement out of that last race and looks good..might even get e/w odds about him..

Maewest...her last run was shocker but she's back on her home track here..some of these are coming off way better races ...but she's shown some good ability and with some luck and the lighter weight could upset the toppy's ...would want nice e/w odds..

Sunny Coast.
Mr Kiseki ...i dont usually like beting in these small fields..but if theres a price about him i'll have alittle go...fantastic run last start where he had made up a heap of ground...he likes to get back and in this little field atleast he's not going to have any probs getting a clear crack at them..he'll be the strongest in the last 50m....hopefully they all come for the toppy and that Oh Raw oh Raw...would want 10's .

Good luck Guys...

maverick1993 7th August 2005 11:55 AM

Wildwood Princess at Balarat is worth a look at as well..

Luv2 ..i've been on old Clanger a few times..he loves it wet and just loves the track,,,think the track is good today...but its such a good track that even the good rating means that theres still alittle sting out of it....a horse in that race i like though is Sundae Jester ,,was on him in town last start and he made a up a heap of ground as per my rules i'll have to have something on him...but will be keeping an eye on old Clanger coming down the outside .
good exacts and tri race..

maverick1993 7th August 2005 04:08 PM

Well done again Mr ed...your strike rate of late has been excellent,,
had the 6 races today..
wins so far on Mahawangsa and Oak Park,,losses on Sundea Jester and Never Sad..
got two to go ..Maewest and Polish Prince in Kalgoolie...
have a good double still alive with Polish Prince ...
fingers crossed.

been a great day ..its fun being ahead with bets remaining ..you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride..
havent had that luxury of late ..especially last week..

Bad luck on all clanger Lv2.....we got 3rd and 4th .. easy tri and 1st4 to get in hindsight..just let planagram slip under the radar..

Must make up for Civil yesterday Mr Ed ..... well done..you the man :)

maverick1993 7th August 2005 04:10 PM

couldnt beleive the odds about Mr Kiseki,,that Tony Brassel fella on sky tipped it a good thing ..must have a good following..
whats the bet he was on the toppy ;)

racingnovice 7th August 2005 04:20 PM

I know i was on the toppy lol. Only horse that could have come close was scratched lol. I don't even think Allambie was ridden hard either jockey hardly used the whip.

luv2bet 7th August 2005 04:22 PM

Eagle hill wsa too short for a bet and lucky for me. Clanger returned a profit with the place, shouldve had tri first 4 as you said Mav. Large thanks goes to Mr Ed and Mav for making today a winning day with the oak and mahawangsa, might have a go on maewest now since theres nothing else runnin'.
Anthing for 2morrow fellas, then again it must be my turn to find the winner!!!

maverick1993 7th August 2005 05:23 PM

Polish Prince ran well....the one i was worried about won and that would of been ok if Polish kept 2nd ....still a good run and worth following..
Maewest,,..played up at the barriers ..is only going to get one more chance now..hopefully down a class,,,

good day just the same,,,..but that double 50x would of been sooo good,,

maverick1993 7th August 2005 06:24 PM

Murwilimba.
* Nastia,,,have liked both her runs..runs on nicely and against this lot has a good show here..has the inside and the good jock,,very confident..
I'm wary of Another Gold ..can run time ..would want a price .but have Another Gold somewhere in the multis..

* Lady Breakfast...isnt racing against anything here..has a real good chance..rebelette can run but the 1200m usually sorts him out..
the others are resuming ot just out of form..
Colless is flying ...,,
The toppy even with the weight and unsuitable distance will be the danger here...hasnt raced for ever ...but dont leave it out..
Wont take anything to short but Lady Breakfast looks good to me..

just two for me guys..if the price is right..
good luck :)

Mr ed 7th August 2005 07:30 PM

Well Done Mav, that paid huge, 2 bets 2 wins, why didn't i all up today?

Oakpark is just so honest, was hoping for a better price but a big, big day all the same. Thanks again Mav, both winners didn't quite make up for Civil, but dems da breaks. I am just doing the form for Miss Starnee's race tommorow, i'll be on her regardless, but it looks a decent field and my form study will determine how much.

Mr ed 7th August 2005 11:12 PM

And the answer is, not to much. She looks the horse to beat, running well against better opposition then these in Adelaide. There doesn't look a great deal of speed in the race, i expect Tanna Hero to lead quite comfortably. If you knew they would go hard you'd back her till the cows come home but with the small straight here she is a bit of a risk, as all backmarkers are.

One i will be having a go at if the odds permit is Skandia. Has excellent formlines through it's second up run running 2nd behind Xaarbel, and the third horse Oak Park Shannon has obviously run well since. She was well up in class last start when taking on C3 showcase company and worked hard outside the leader, was going well and looked a chance till the final 200 where her condition just gave way, she looks better then this field here and should get a nice cart into the race from (7). Should be rock hard fit now and put up a good show. Would want $4.
