Some good value. We rated 17 races from Eagle Farm, Flemington and Rosehill with three excellent winners on top and nine top four winners.

Here are value winners with bookmaker/tote odds available:

Top rated winners:
Rose Syrah $8.00 at Flemington.
Teasing $6.00 at Rosehill.
Bay Window $4.40 at Rosehill.

Third/fourth rated winners:
Crossthestart $13.80 at Eagle Farm.
Gold Salute $12.00 at Flemington.

Trifectas, first fours and quinellas:
We unfortunately didn't repeat last week's massive first four. We did find a $1,240.20 trifecta Rosehill R4 (top rated winning, 2nd. & 3rd. in the ratings.)
There were also some value quinellas including the $82.10 Flemington R3 quinella (top rated winning, top 4.)

We rated just eight races from the rain affected Randwick and Sandown meetings. We left alone the main Queensland meeting which was held at Toowoomba. Brisbane city class horses don't usually race there on Saturdays. From just eight races there was not much action with three winners in the top two.

Second rated winner:
Britomart $5.80 at Sandown in a field of 8.

$59.70 trifecta in order Randwick R3 (field of 7.)

We rated just 11 races for a big value second rated winner and the chance to have a big exotics collect.

Top rated winner:
Inkster $3.50 offered a little value at Caulfield in a field of 10.

Second rated winner:
Vintedge $9.60 at Rosehill n a field of 10 was a great value winner.

Trifectas and first fours:
Randwick R3 $18,487.10 first four (2nd. rated won, top rated finished 3rd, the other two horses were in the ratings.)
Randwick R3 $1,092.00 trifecta (2nd. rated won, top rated finished 3rd, the other horse was in the ratings.)
Randwick R4 $1,194.50 first four (top 5.)

We rated 13 races and snared a big top five first four. There were four second rated winners and eight winners in the top three.

Beltrois $4.60 at Moonee Valley in a field of 10 offered a little value, as did:
Bejewelled $4.00 at Randwick in a field of 9.

Third rated winners:
Altered Boy $14.60 at Randwick.
Armstrong Jones $14.50 at Doomben.

Longshot winners:
Members using the ratings to wager on longshots might have had a few dollars on Testimonial, $22.40 which won Randwick R8.

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
