It was an absolutely massive day for members who look for value bets from the ratings. We rated just 14 races.

Here are value winners with bookmaker/tote odds available:

Top rated winners:
Zupacool $12.00 at Flemington.
Dubai Dawm $4.40 at Morphettville.

Second rated winners:
Cat Eyes $22.30 at Doomben.

Third/fourth rated winners:
Three Swallows $47.90 at Doomben.
Serious Speed $21.00 at Morphettville in a field of nine.
Speed Gifted $13.90 at Flemington.
Sir Skalahad $13.00 at Flemington in a field of nine.

Not bad from the 14 races rated at three meetings, leaving alone Hawkesbury. There were two winners on top and eight winners in the top four. Some of the fields were huge at Doomben where we rated six races, so we were more than satisfied with the strike rate.

Trifectas and first fours:
With many big fields it was tough, just missing out on getting one horse in. Members who box our top three won again.
Flemington R3 $147.50 trifecta (top 3.)
There were some huge quinellas (first and second in any order) from the top four. They were:
Doomben R2 $103.10
Doomben R3 $56.10

We rated 10 races at three meetings, leaving alone the Gold Coast. It was a pretty tough day with only two winners on top and five winners in the top four.

Here are value winners with bookmaker/tote odds available:

Top rated winners:
Royal Charades $3.70 at Caulfield offered some value in the field of 11.

Second rated winners:
Welkom Gold $8.00 was a good value winner at Rosehill.

Third/fourth rated winners:
Burgels $13.00 bet with the bookies was a decent winner at Morphettville.

Trifectas and first fours:
A tough day though members who box our top three won again.
Rosehill R4 $292.00 trifecta (top 3.)

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
