Another profitable day for our top selections while the Poseidons again had a winning day including a nice $37.00 quinella in one. That's like backing a $37.00 winner!
Gold Specials - Sydney and Melbourne
At Moonee Valley Amberino, 25 units, won at $7.00. Profit from that wager was 150 units. Best tote was $8.60. We gave back 73 units at Randwick. Poseidon Selections
Another winning day. There were 13 selections for four winners. Odds of the winners with best of bookmaker/tote were: $8.10, $7.50, $5.00 and $3.70. The two selections given in Doomben R6 ran the quinella which paid up to $37.30 on the New South Wales tote. That is like backing a $37.30 winner. We have mentioned a number of times that when two or more Poseidon Selections are given in one race, taking them in a quinella makes a lot of sense and like last Saturday, has given us some excellent winners.
Ratings
From seven races there were two winners on top and five winners in the top four.

Saturday, 19 May, 2007
It's often luck in running or a small margin that can be the difference between our top selections making a profit or a loss on any given Saturday, and so it was this week when we missed out on an $8.00 winner, beaten by a nose.

At Rosehill Mr Clangtastic, 13 units, $11.00 was unplaced while at Sandown Flash Coupe, 26 units, $5.00 finished third.

Saturday, 5 May, 2007
A top Saturday for the Gold Specials.
Gold Specials - Sydney and Melbourne
At Rosehill Prince Of Truth, 21 units, won by three lengths with $6.00 bet. Profit 105 units. What was amazing in this race was that the favourite, Groundwork, which was solidly backed on track from $4.40 to start at $3.50, was not in our top eight! We have absolutely no idea how it could start a short priced favourite. It was an absurd bet. It also finished tenth in the field of 11 runners. Our second bet at Rosehill, Bobadah, 25 units, with the great odds of $8.00 available ran a huge race for second, being beaten by just a long neck. At Moonee Valley we had just one bet. Flash Coupe, 27 units, won with $4.80 available. Profit 103 units.
Top Rated Specials - Brisbane and Adelaide
We ignored the Gold Coast meeting. There was also no Saturday, city standard meeting in Adelaide.

Please note:
We provide guidelines to new members on using our betting information for first fours and trifecta betting.
In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.
For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.
Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.
While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
