As per normal we left alone the 30th. March Easter public holiday long weekend racing.

We rated 11 races from Rosehill, Caulfield and Doomben for 4 Top 4 Winners, on a tough day for punters.

Here are Top Four winners with bookmaker or tote odds of $4.00 or better available.

Criterion $8.00

Lucky Lil's Tips
Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take.

From Lucky Lil's 3 selections Whisper Downs $3.80, won at Caulfield. Epic Terra $3.40, placed at Doomben while Lucky Lil's Morphettville tip was unplaced at big odds. Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was Petite Diablesse which started at $6.50 at Caulfield, way above the suggested lay price, so Lucky Lil would not lay it. It ran unplaced.

We rated 4 races from Warwick Farm for 3 Top 4 Winners. We left alone the Bendigo and Gold Coast meetings.

We rated 10 races from Rosehill, Flemington and Eagle Farm. However, with Eagle Farm abandoned we were left with just 5 rated races. From this very small sample there were 2 Top 4 Winners, both at odds under $4.00.

Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take.

Lucky Lil only had 2 selections this week due to a scratching at Eagle Farm. Golden Sunshine ran second at Rosehill starting at $3.90. The other tip, at big double figure odds, was unplaced at Morphettville.

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
