We 12 rated races from Rosehill, Flemington and Eagle Farm. There were plenty of scratchings, particularly at Eagle Farm, which left us with just 10 races where we had 4 Top Four rated horses running. There were 7 Top Four winners.

Lucky Lil's 2 tips found $6.30 tote winner Merlin Mustang. Members who backed Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day to lose were winners. It was Shadowfax which finished 8th., beaten by more than 5 lengths.

We rated 9 races from Randwick and Eagle Farm and left alone the Bendigo meeting. There were 5 Top Four winners, including some excellent value.

Lucky Lil's Tips
While Lucky Lil's 2 tips missed out after collecting on $6.30 winner Merlin Mustang the previous week, members who backed Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day to lose were again winners. It was Distillation which started at $3.70 and was beaten by more than 8 lengths at Oakbank.

We rated 9 races from Rosehill and Caulfield for 7 Top 4 Winners. The heavy track and key scratchings played havoc with our Doomben ratings where there were no Top Four Winners from the rated races.

It was a tough day with only 4 Top Four Winners from 8 rated races at Rosehill and Moonee Valley. The changing track conditions once again affected our Brisbane ratings, with no Top Four Winners from the 4 rated races.

Please note:

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
