We rated 16 races from Rosehill, Moonee Valley and Doomben for 11 Top 4 Winners and some good value including a massive Box 4 First Four for our growing band of Box 4 First Four members.

Value Bets
Members looking for additional value from the ratings may have had a few dollars on Sea Lord, $28.50 winner at Moonee Valley.

Lucky Lil's Tips
From 3 tips Velrosso was a $5.00 winner at Rosehill, while Arinosa was a $2.70 winner at the same track. However Lucky Lil did not back Arinosa, as Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take. Lucky Lil's other bet, The Sixties, $4.40, finished 3rd. at Doomben by a half neck and a short half head.

The Lay of the Day was Doomben $3.50 favourite They Won't Last. Yet again Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day did the right thing for us by not winning.

The highlight has to be the Doomben R7 $2,132.40 Box 4 First Four!
The Box 4 Trifecta also paid a nice $356.00 for a $24.00 outlay.

We rated 9 races from Rosehill and Eagle Farm for 8 Top 4 Winners. We left alone the Melbourne metropolitan racing held on Friday night and Sunday.

Lucky Lil's Tips
Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take. There were just 2 tips after a scratching. Upshot $8.50 was unplaced at Rosehill but Mahisara $9.50 won from the ratings. The Sixties $6.00 was unplaced at Eagle Farm.

Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was a well beaten 2nd. at Eagle Farm. However Jugahlation started at $9.00, way way better value than the short odds Lucky Lil expected. Lucky Lil would not lay it at those odds and is not claiming it as a successful Lay of the Day tip.

Lucky Lil's Tips
Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take. From 3 tips Silver Command started at the ridiculous odds of $1.70 and finished second in a field of 12 at Doomben. Following scratchings there were just 2 other horses in the ratings and Triskele $14.70 won the race. Bloomingdale Miss $9.00 was unplaced at Caulfield. From the ratings Lady Of Harrods $15.00 won the race. Lucky Lil's third tip, Studio was unplaced at Randwick, starting at $5.50.

Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was again a winner for us. Can't remember when we last lost plenty on a Lay of the Day. Committed started the $2.70 favourite at Caulfield and did the right thing for us by not winning. It finished 9th. of 13!

Lucky Lil's Tips
From 3 tips Title $15.00 starting price ran a good 3rd. at Flemington. Lucky Song $8.00 was unplaced but Bang On $25.50 won from the ratings. Alvitas $5.00 finished 4th. at Doomben. Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was $3.50 favourite Sumarand, which did the right thing for us by not winning and finished out of a place at Warwick Farm.

The Warwick Farm R5 $348.00 Box 4 First Four was a nice collect for our Box 4 First Four members and followed up from a $770.00 Box 4 First Four the previous week.
For quinella punters there was an $84.90 quinella from the top 5 in Doomben R1.

Please note:

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
