Rosehill
Mnemosyne:
How good is this John Hawkes' trained 2YO filly? At her first start, after settling well back, she absolutely blitzed the field winning by five lengths.
Sandown Hillside
Creative Plan:
This Tony Vasil trained 3YO filly was well back in the straight and having difficulty getting out. When clear she showed the acceleration that only class horses have and comfortably won the Listed 3YO Fillies Twilight Glow Stakes.
Brannigan:
Another outstanding John Hawkes' trained prospect. This 3YO gelding had a very soft win against the older horses in a Listed race run at Weight for Age. Brannigan now has four wins and three seconds from just 10 starts. He looks a certain Group horse.
Count Ricardo:
What an amazing story. This 4YO gelding, just a $900 purchase, ran a close third in the Victoria Derby and followed up by winning the $400,000 Weight for Age Sandown Classic. He is the first 3YO to win the race since 1974. Count Ricardo has been a model of consistency as he has skyrocketed through the classes. He has only missed a place once in 10 starts.
Eagle Farm
Carlita Miss:
Scott Seamer was unable to get in on this mare in the Listed Brisbane handicap. Despite the tough, wide ride Carlita Miss just went down to the reliable Brisbane performer, Raw Instinct. Carlita Miss was the best of good things beaten.
Never Sad:
In the same race this mare was unable to get a run in the straight and went to the line hard held.
Star Of Florida:
Queensland's top sprinter showed his class in the next race. Wide throughout and carrying 60kg. Star Of Florida still defeated the other 15 runners.
