Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Lycra Lass:
Third up from a spell at the 200 metres this 5YO mare was badly held up for a run. She had to be taken to the outside to continue her run. Despite this bad luck Lycra Lass finished third in a photo behind the $3.40 favourite Titbit and Fill The Page by a neck and a neck. Lycra Lass was a good thing beaten. She'll be at peak fitness next start.

Marcellus:
This lightly raced David Hayes trained 4YO gelding had an impressive first up run over 1410 metres. Sent out at $16.00, it finished second by just a half neck to Lonhreign. Marcellus has now raced four times for one win and one second. It's worth following this campaign.

Punch On:
First up in a 3YO Fillies Listed set weights race over 1200 metres, this filly was impressive. Punch On was held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn. In tight traffic, near the the 150 metres Punch On shifted out for a run. Despite bad luck in running, Punch On finished second by a short neck to the $3.00 favourite Charm's Honour. Punch On was another good thing beaten.
