Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Each week we will give some runs worth noting by horses from Saturday's racing. Keep a record of the horses, bet smart and you too could back some big winners.

After two wins and two thirds in its first four runs this campaign, Shylock's Daughter suffered significant interference from the 600 and finished five lengths behind the winner, Figure Of Speech. Forget that this 5YO mare ever went round.

Offhanded:
Carrying 60kg., this consistent 3YO gelding ran a nice second first up as $1.75 favourite. Connections were pleased with the run, though we doubt the punters who took the shorts were. Offhanded now has three wins and six places from just 10 starts and looks set for a good campaign.

Bianca Jewel:
This promising Steven O'Dea trained 2YO filly was a nice winner in a $250,000 2YO race. That makes three wins and two seconds from just seven starts. Keep following her.
