Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Pinwheel:
Resuming from a spell and starting at $6.50, this smart 6YO gelding, ridden by Kerrin McEvoy and trained by Peter Snowden, had no luck in running in Group 3 company over 1100 metres and finished fourth, 2.7 lengths from the winner, Zaratone. Pinwheel has a great strike rate, with 10 wins and 8 seconds from 29 starts. Expect Pinwheel to bounce back strongly next race when second up as it has never finished worse than second.

Classic Elle:
Resuming from a spell at Moonee Valley on the 16th. March, this 3YO filly, ridden by Danny Nikolic, had a strong win. Then from barrier 8 second up at Caulfield, three kilos claiming apprentice Katelyn Mallyon had Classic Elle positioned wide without cover throughout the 1400 metres of race. Considering this handicap, the filly did well to finish fourth. With 2 wins and 4 placings from 8 race starts expect Classic Elle to bounce back strongly next start. Look for a good non claiming jockey to be given the ride.

Royal Jester:
First up and having only its second race start, this promising Liam Birchley trained 2YO gelding was sent out at $6.00 in the field of 12 over 1000 metres. Royal Jester suffered interference at the 700 which probably cost it the win, as it finished second, only beaten a short head by Charge A Fortune, while it was 2 lengths clear of Bam's Boy which finished third.
