Melbourne Cup Carnival
6/11/2004
Here are the latest runners to be added
to our Horse Watch list.
Flemington
Binding:
This very promising John Hawkes' trained 3YO gelding followed up an easy win at Canterbury with another soft win at Flemington. He can handle all track conditions and looks destined to win some bigger races.
Warwick Farm
Impatient Star:
This 2YO colt was noticed making up good ground to finish a close second behind the well bred hype colt Flying Pegasus.
Mr. Celebrity:
Gai Waterhouse has a chance to some strong Black-Type races with this exciting 4YO gelding. He was never troubled to bolt in over 2100 metres at Warwick Farm, his fourth win from four starts. Could Mr. Celebrity become a 2005 Melbourne Cup horse?
Doomben
Rebelette:
Scott Seamer could never get in on this 5YO mare. Despite being wide throughout she never gave up. Rebelette has five wins from 11 starts. After three runs this campaign, a city win looks just around the corner.
Power And Gold:
Another unlucky horse, Power And Gold was never on the track but put in a huge run resuming from a spell and finished a close fourth to the smart Clay Shaker and Drunken Joker. That was the first unplaced run from this exciting 4YO gelding, who now has seven wins and six placings from just 14 starts. Look for some big wins from Power And Gold over the next 12 months.
