Rosehill
Rosa Brava:
This John Hawkes' trained filly ht the line strongly first up. She will be fitter for the run.
Bold Matador:
Backed from $3.40 to $3.00, this Gwenda Markwell trained 4YO gelding put in a strong run and finished a close third. That was his first run in six months. Bold Matador has won six of his 10 starts and has never finished out of a place.
Sandown Hillside
Testadude:
We liked this 2YO gelding's run at Sandown. It was his first start. Sent out at $15.00 he finished the race off well for a close fourth, only half a length behind the winner, Tonz More Fun.
Doomben
Katsidis:
A strong finishing second by this 2YO gelding in this 1200 metres Listed race. He could win a good race during the Brisbane Carnival.
Star Shiraz:
This filly is always very consistent. At her third run in she finished ran on well and finished fourth in 3YO Group 3 company. From 14 starts she has finished in the top two eight times.
Morphettville
General Bayton:
Donna Gaskin must be thrilled training this classy 4YO gelding. In Group 3 company he ran a great second to Bomber Bill and finished ahead of gallopers like Group 1 winner Super Elegant. The General has five wins and six placings from 15 starts. He must rate a strong show in the Goodwood Handicap.
