Chris Waller's 5YO gelding was sent out as $2.15 favourite. Prior to this race Mangaroa Flyer had 2 wins, 3 seconds and 3 thirds from just 10 race starts. It finished fifth in the field of seven, 10 lengths from the winner. Mangaroa Flyer suffered so much interference, forget it ever went around.

Sandown Lakeside

True Tussock:
This Starcraft 3YO colt trained by Kevin Newby had started as a short priced favourite in all its 4 races prior to today, including 2 races at Warwick Farm. At Sandown it started at $17.00 and finished over 5 lengths from the winner, Bombalatomba. However, this is deceptive as approaching the 1000 metres it had to be steadied off the heels of Henwood which shifted in across it when not fully clear and then rounding the home turn and in the straight was badly held up before being bumped when trying to get a clear run at the 200 metres. Don't let True Tussock get under your guard at good odds.

Whateverwhenever:
This Liam Birchley trained 5YO mare suffered interference at the 700 metres as well as being forced to race wide throughout over the Doomben 1200 metres. Despite this, it finished second by a short head to Vipera Gold. Whateverwhenever was clearly a good thing beaten and our Brisbane video analyst expects it to hit back quickly. The mare has a very good winning strike rate with 5 wins from 17 race starts.
