4/11/2003 edition Melbourne Cup Tips How does your Cup horse rate? She's Archie No17 The mare returned to racing in August this year. She did finish strongly for second to Zazzman in the Geelong Cup on October 22. She is capable of running a race at odds. Zagalia No18 Zagalia caused a boilover when starting at $21.00, with her Cup jockey Chris Munce in the saddle, she won the Queensland Oaks over 2400 metres on May 31 this year. She was then sent out for a spell. Her Cup lead up form has been first class. She was a very unlucky sixth, beaten 2.3 lengths in the Caulfield Cup and followed that up by finishing fourth in the Cox Plate to Fields Of Omagh, beaten 3.6 lengths. She drops in class to the Melbourne Cup and also drops 4kg. in weight. The query is the distance. But she does look a huge show. Ain't Seen Nothin' No19 With no weight this mare has the lead up form to run a big race. She ran fifth, beaten 2.2 lengths by Mummify in the Caulfield Cup and followed that up with an excellent fourth in the Mackinnon Stakes on Saturday, beaten 2.7 lengths by Casual Pass. She drops in weight 6kg. from that run. The big query is the distance. Big Pat No20 The geldings two runs at the distance don't inspire much confidence. He finished down the track in the 2001 Melbourne Cup and was beaten by 8.8 lengths in the weaker Adelaide Cup in May this year. Very unlikely. This edition of Punt to Win: Copyright ©1998-present.
