He was 15 lengths from the tearaway leader Star Of Florida at the 600 and still trailing by 10 lengths at the home turn. He ran very fast final sectionals to finish a close second, beaten only a short head by Snowland.

Defier is back

First up and he has come back in top form. Defeated the hyped Lohnro who was backed into $1.28. Defier can be foloowed with confidence at odds.

Swiss Echo no luck

Not in the top class but very handy. In a 1200 metres Liste Handicap at Warwick Farm this Gai Waterhouse trained 5YO gelding resumed from a spell of five months and had little luck in the straight.

Daniel's The Man - surprise packet?

This 5YO gelding could surprise this campaign. In a Transition handicap at Warwick Farm he started from barrier 13, was wide throughout and lugged 62kg. He was beaten in a photo finish.

Faiza is ready

She resumed at Warwick Farm in a Fillies and Mares Listed event over 1400 metres. Carrying 57.5kg. she never got a clear crack at them in the straight until the race was over.

Broadband - one to watch

First up at Caulfield this lightly raced Lee Freedman trained 3YO colt put in a big finish in Listed company after working hard in the run. He will improve.

Eagle Rhythm - will win over distance

At Caulfied over an unsuitably short 1200 metres he was wide in the run, had some difficulties getting clear in the straight and in a day dominated by leaders and on pace runners made up good ground late.
