3. This was a weak 3YO & UP Rating 80 handicap.
4. Nuptse was the lowest handicapped horse in the race.

Eagle Farm winner

1. Had an excellent strike rate with 13 wins from 34 starts, but was hit or miss with only 3 seconds and 3 thirds from the 21 races it did not win.
2. Failed on a Heavy track at Eagle Farm last start but this time was racing on a Good track.
3. Two starts back, starting at $26.00, it was only beaten 1.5 lengths on a Good track at Eagle Farm.
4. The handicapper decided it was the leading contender in the race, giving it 58 kg. - the highest handicap.
5. Its record at the 1400 metres distance of the race was 2 starts for 1 win and 1 second.
6. It also had 3 wins from 15 starts at Eagle Farm - a 20% strike rate. Take that plus 13 wins from 34 races and $29.80 win odds look very, very generous.

4. Clearly at $36.80 it was way over the odds.

Eagle Farm winner
Vipera Gold $27.10
1. The track was rated Heavy - it had 1 win from 2 starts on a Heavy and 1 win, 2 seconds and 1 third from its 4 starts on a Slow track.
2. From 4 starts at Eagle Farm had 1 win, 1 second and 1 third.
3. It was handicapped on the minimum 53kg. in this weak 0mw handicap.
