27/6/2003 edition Betting Wet Track Winners Moonee Valley, Saturday, 14 June 2003 Horses with proven wet track form are the safest bets on wet tracks. This was shown again last Saturday at Moonee Valley which had a Slow rated track. Seven of the eight races were won by horses that had won on a Slow or Heavy rated track. The exception was 2YO colt Deflect which was having his second start. His other start had been on a Good rated track. But his sire was Helissio which meant that he would probably handle the wet, unlike a Rory's Jester who is unlikely to handle the wet. Similarly at Victoria Park which had a Heavy rated track most of the winners showed they could race on rain affected tracks. However the meeting was tough due to the lack of horses with decent form - anywhere. This edition of Punt to Win: Back Tote Longshots?
