25/7/2003 edition This Is A Speed Horse How good is Star Of Sequalo? Last Saturday this 2YO filly, trained by John Shelton at Grafton, comfortably won a 2YO Open over 1200 metres at Eagle Farm. What is significant is the time Star Of Sequalo ran. Earlier in the day Jar Jar Binks won an Open Handicap over the same distance in the time of 1:10.2. A restricted race later in the day was won in the time of 1:10.8 by Weaishe. However the time run by Star Of Sequalo was only 1:10.0. Star Of Sequalo also carried more weight than Jar Jar Binks and Weaishe. When a young horse can run faster time or key sectionals than the older gallopers on the same day on the same track conditions then you know you usually have a class horse. Star Of Sequalo has won all her three races this time in, including easy wins at Randwick and Rosehill. The filly looks a top show to win some rich 3YO races.
