24/5/2002 edition Wining Bets at Odds Our horse racing forum (link in the menu on the left), is becoming very popular with punters. It is active, full of great discussion and betting tips every day. Here is some very useful advice posted on May 21 by a regular contributor, "Privateer." Follow it and you'll certainly back more winners at good odds. "Here are some sentences uttered by punters that in my view seriously damage their ability to find good priced winners: 1. It finished too far from the winner at its last start. 2. It’s carrying too much weight to win. 3. Who did you say was riding it? 4. I’ve never heard of that trainer. 5. It can’t possibly win from that barrier. 6. I know it won last start but it’s up in class here. 7. It can’t beat the favourite. 8. But it hasn’t won at this distance. 9. I don’t care what the track condition is, this has won in the wet before. 10. If it was a genuine chance, it wouldn’t be that price. I'm sure that if you can read between the lines and interpret the messages contained within, your selection criteria will be a lot better off...Privateer."
