Horse racing tipsters and punters have consistently found the Sydney Autumn Horse Racing Carnival one of the toughest racing carnivals for betting in Australia.

Favourites regularly lose and lose and lose and keep on losing. Even when they put in good runs there's so often just that one horse that was better than them, and favourites punters bemoan their bad luck as they backed another losing favourite that finished second.

These losing wagers on favourites wipe out tens of millions of dollars from the betting community.

This does not mean the winners are any easier to find.

So often they come out of left field with no recent good racing form and win at big odds after putting in a very poor race at their previous start.
