18/7/2003 edition Adelaide Money Jockey Last Saturday Simon Price rode three horses that firmed significantly at Morphettville. Pommery Princess, trained by Tony McEvoy firmed from $8.00 to $5.50 and finished third. Trojan Warrior, trained by Richard Jolly, firmed from $6.00 to $4.00 and finished second. He's All Class, trained by Mark Kavanagh, firmed from $11.00 to $7.00 and won by over three lengths. Darren Beadman's winning season At Randwick last Saturday he rode a treble: Go Ziggy $5.50 Corey Brown continued with his good form riding two winners, Jamrah $4.80 and Catechism $4.00. It was interesting to see three kilos claiming apprentice Jay Ford win on the Bob Milligan trained A Tenner. The 4YO gelding was also heavily backed from $3.50 to $2.60. Does the jockey make the horse or does the horse make the jockey? Or is it a bit of both? One thing is for sure - you usually don't find the acknowledged leading jockeys taking dud rides. They're left for the apprentices and senior jockeys with a lower public profile. This edition of Punt to Win: You Need Top Odds It
is just about impossible to get a high enough
strike rate backing short priced tote favourites
and the poor value tote horses to make up for
the big unders on the tote. Short
