Wet track betting tips

We are entering the time of the year when wet tracks are likely to be common. So here are a few points to consider when making selections for wet tracks:

1. Slow track form is not Heavy track form.

2. Some horses can handle Slow tracks, but not Heavy tracks.

3. Lightly raced horses with no disclosed wet track form racing on a wet track are wild cards. They may be mudlarks.

4. This needs to be taken into account when deciding what is value for your selection.

5. For example, you might find a horse has been racing well in much weaker class. It has no disclosed wet track form. It then comes out and wins a Listed Handicap at big odds on a wet track, wiping out punters.

6. Important: Horses without wet track form, as a group, perform better when they first race on a wet track than horses with a proven record of losing on wet tracks.
