13/6/2003 edition Horse Racing Betting Tips Weight matters Hipwell last Saturday had to be one of the worst win bets of the day. The 2YO gelding had to carry 61kg. plus started from barrier 13 of 16 over the 1100 metres at Randwick. Starting price was $4.00 favourite. It was a great first up run by Hipwell to finish third, but stll beaten by nearly four lengths. Distance and lightly raced horses The third race at Cheltenham last Saturday was a trap race. There were 11 2YOs racing over 1310 metres. Only two of the runners had raced over 1300 metres. To make matters worse, the track was rain affected - but not too bad, being on the better side of Slow. The winner, Vain Burg, was initially the emergency for the race. Tote odds were up to $39.00. Vain Burg had raced four times, but had never raced over more than 1050 metres. One week earlier the filly started at $41.00 when beaten by more than six lengths over 1000 metres at Cheltenham. This edition of Punt to Win: You Need Top Odds It

and the poor value tote horses to make up for
