Betting facts from Caulfield, Saturday, 5th. December.
In another tough day for punters, just one favourite, Paganini’s Soul, $4.00, won at Caulfield. Not one jockey rode a winning double. However Mick Price trained a winning double – Marconi, $2.30 and Nakaaya, $7.00. Robbie Griffiths also trained a winning double, and what a double it was! The horses were Meteor Mistress, $41.00 (best tote $47.80) and Danzylum, $12.00 (best tote $17.90) in the final race of the day. It’s worth noting that our Free Top Four Ratings hit pay dirt in that race, with the $3,985.80 SuperTab First 4 in the Top 4! The First 4 paid a dividend of $6,391.60 on UniTab. The Super Tab trifecta dividend was $589.80 and on UniTab $945.20.
Betting facts from Moonee Valley, Saturday, 28th. November.
In a tough day for punters, only one favourite, Posadas, $3.30, won at Moonee Valley. Nicholas Hall rode a winning double – Star Witness, $3.70 and Its Prince $6.50. Peter Snowden trained a winning double – Posadas and Screen, $6.00. The meeting finished on a bad note for punters who tried to get out in the last two races on leading hoop Damien Oliver’s rides, sending out Amberino, $2.60 and Red Hustler, $3.60 as favourites. Both were unplaced. Last start Moonee Valley winner Belscenica won again and paid best tote odds of $22.50. Most punters clearly let this one get under their guard. Not our Free Top Four Ratings.
Betting facts from Sandown, Saturday, 21st. November.
Spring Carnival racing was well and truly over at Sandown. Jason Maskiell rode the first two winners of the day, Umanugget, $4.00 and Tariks, $4.80. Luke Nolen also rode a double – North East Smile, $3.30 and Sheedy, $4.00. Peter G. Moody was the trainer of three of these winners – Umanugget, North East Smile and Sheedy. Danny Nikolic got a double of sorts. He had rides on two favourites – Rose Syrah and Iamzeus. They both finished second. However in the eight race meeting Craig Newitt finished last in three races. The horses were Ortayga, $7.00, Trust Me Im Blonde, $13.00 and Rolling Stock, $26.00. However to more than compensate, Newitt did ride the day’s winner at biggest odds. That was Bashful Girl, which started at $18.00 in the Eclipse Stakes. Newitt finished last in the next two races – the final two races of the day!
