Wet Track Betting Tips
Continued
from previous page
What conclusions can we draw?
1. Betting on Heavy tracks can be very risky. Some
horses are just about impossible to select on form.
2. A win on a Heavy track in a maiden as the only Heavy track win
is no guarantee that the horse will handle a Heavy track at a Saturday
metropolitan meeting.
3. Horses that have had plenty of races without a Heavy track win
are usually dubious betting propositions.
4. Lightly raced horses that have never raced on a Heavy track
are difficult to assess. They can often win first up, but you have no
real idea whether or not they will handle the track. That makes the race
an even more difficult betting proposition than a similar race with horses
resuming on a Good rated track.
5. A Slow track is not a Heavy track. Horses that perform on Slow
tracks do not automatically handle Heavy tracks.
6. Horses that have never raced on a Heavy track are better betting
propositions than horses that have failed on Heavy tracks.
