Betting Adelaide Favourites
Beware the Odds

The starting price bookmaker betting markets for Saturday Adelaide racing are around 130% to 140% compared with 110% for Saturday Sydney racing. We all know that backing every favourite returns a long term loss. However, because of the very tight betting ring odds in Adelaide, betting favourites is considerably worse value for punters compared with Sydney.

Have a look at these tables showing how favourites went in Adelaide over the last two Saturdays. The starting price odds for these horses are considerably shorter than for comparable favourites at Sydney. SuperTab tote odds are provided for a comparison.
